THEME: HEART AFTER GOD

Proverbs 21:1 NKJV

“The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.”

INSIGHT

–The heart of every king, and all that is in it, his thoughts, counsels, purposes and desires are ordered by the Lord. The heart of an evil king, the Lord may choose to hardened as Pharaoh when he hindered the children of Israel from moving out of Egypt and softened to release them after the plagues. This heart like a river of torrent water which is unstable, fluid, fluctuating and has destructive potential. To the righteous king, his heart is guided and his steps ordered by the Lord to fulfill His purposes (Revelation 17:17). This heart like rivers of water is refreshing, satisfying and reviving, and found to be full of wisdom, prudence, integrity, faithfulness and goodness, demonstrating godliness.

PRAYER

Dear Lord Jesus You are our great and mighty God. You are our only Savior and King, we put all our hope and trust in You. Lord You make firm the steps of the one who delights in You, though we may stumble, we will not fall, for You dear Lord uphold us with Your hand. We put all our hope and trust in You Lord. Dear Father You say in Your word that the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, Who can know it? Only You Lord, search the heart, test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways and the fruit of his doings. May You purify our hearts and minds, and guide us in the way that we should go. By Your mercy and grace dear Jesus we shall inherit the land and dwell in it forever. Amen
