THEME: HEART AFTER GOD

Acts 13:21-22 NKJV

“And afterward they asked for a king; so God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years. And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.”

INSIGHT

–The people of Israel were desperate and looked forward to be governed by a king like the other nations for military protection against the Philistines and Ammonites. When Saul disobeyed and offered a burnt sacrifice out of anxiety and impatience, it displeased the Lord and he was dethroned. God then sought for Himself a man after His own heart, a commander over His people (1 Samuel 13:14). Let us ask the Lord to give us leaders after His own heart who will only do His will.

PRAYER

We thank You Abba Father for enabling us to this new day that You have made, we rejoice and are glad in it. We worship You and magnify Your name for only You are worthy of all our praise. Dear Lord Jesus, may You create in us clean hearts and renew a steadfast spirit within us, do not cast us away from Your presence, do not take Your Holy Spirit from us, but restore unto us the joy of Your salvation, and uphold us by Your generous Spirit we humbly implore You. May You anoint us afresh precious Holy Spirit for the purpose for which You have called us to do. May You lead us, guide us, protect us, provide for us and sustain us through out this week that we may experience You in a special way now and forevermore, Amen.
