UPPER ROOM

1 Chronicles 28:11 Then David gave his son Solomon the plans for the vestibule, its houses, its treasuries, its upper chambers, its inner chambers, and the place of the mercy seat;

INSIGHT -In Hebrew it is written as aliyyah from alah which means upper chambers, to ascend, chamber in the sky.
-David gave Solomon the plan which was used to build the temple of the Lord. The upper room was a special place of worship & dedicated to God. -In Exodus 33:9, Moses met God at the tent of meeting which had a tabanacle/ Holy of holies representing the upper room.

PRAYER: Abba Father, all glory & honor belongs to you. Lead me in Your ways of righteousness. Inubriate my spirit to the upper room where You met Moses face to face as a man meets his friend. Holy Spirit, come into my heart & dwell with me always. Amen

Hebrews 8:5 who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, “See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”

INSIGHT -Moses was instructed to make the tabernacle in a specific manner when he was on the mountain with God. -This was a shadow of heavenly things indicating the kingdom of God was represented on earth as it in heaven. -1 Cor 6:19-20, Paul writes that ones body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. Thus, one should glorify the Lord with the body & spirit. -The human spirit represents the upper room/ Holy of holies, soul the Holy place and body the outer court according the the design of the tabanacle.

PRAYER: Lord God, may Your Kingdom come in my heart & will be done on earth as it in heaven. Guide me to establish Your tabanacle in my family & give us strength to abide by Your instructions. May my spirit be Your upper room as You dwell with me now & forever. Amen

Acts 9:39-40 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he had come, they brought him to the upper room. And all the widows stood by him weeping, showing the tunics and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them. But Peter put them all out, and knelt down and prayed. And turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up.

INSIGHT -Apostle Peter raised Tabitha/Dorcas a disciple of Jesus who was full of charitable works from the dead by the power of Christ. -Tabitha/Dorcas who engaged in charity & good works was sick & died. The people summoned Peter, who performed the miracle after which they believed in the Lord. -The upper room was a place of prayer & where great miracles took place.

PRAYER: Jesus, I believe in You. Lead me to the upper room where You raised Tabitha by Your mighty power. I need a miracle Lord in my current situation. I ask for mercy from You everyday in all that I’m going through. Lead, strengthen & give me peace Father, all the days of my life. Amen.

Luke 22:10-12 And He said to them, “Behold, when you have entered the city, a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him into the house which he enters. Then you shall say to the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, “Where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with My disciples?”’ Then he will show you a large, furnished upper room; there make ready.”

INSIGHT -Jesus celebrated the passover feast with the disciples in the upper room. He broke the bread & gave them a drink from the vine which represented his body & blood. -In Exodus chapter 13 to 23, Moses writes the events from passover, feast of unleavened bread & sabbath where Israelites were consecrated before receiving the ten commandments. Moses came down the mountain with his face shining because of God’s presence. -The upper room was very close to mount olives (Mat 26:30). God was evidently present in the upper room, which is a heavenly place.

PRAYER: Jehovah my God, You are The King of Kings & Lord of Lords. As You took the passover with Your disciples, let me also experience You in my life at the breaking of bread & sharing of wine. My spirit seeks You in the heavenly places so that I can experience You everyday. Let me observe Your commandments with love & purity of heart always. Amen.

Acts 1:13-14 And when they had entered, they went up into the upper room where they were staying: Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; and Judas the son of James. These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

INSIGHT -After Jesus ascended into heaven; the disciples, His mother, other women & men went to the upper room for prayer & supplication. -They sent a strong message of christian unity, prayer without ceasing & private prayer in the heavenly realm. -After that the Holy Spirit came with great authority & settled within their spirits having a sign of tongues of fire on their heads. -The upper room was a heavenly place of prayer & supplication, sharing bread & wine in memory of Christ, powerful miracles & spending time with God.

PRAYER: Holy Spirit come into my heart & be my Helper always. Help me in my weaknesses, challenges, decision making, work or business & all my heart desires. Reveal to me the treasures in heaven & may your Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. May I experience You in sprirt & truth. I praise You & worship You now & forever. Amen.
