Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

INSIGHT

-Sometimes we are faced with battles in life and fail to see God’s promises upon our lives. We battle in the mind and other times with the body anxiously having the fear of the unknown. It becomes difficult for us to see God’s vision for our lives, families, churches, purposes, nation and the world. God reminds us to securely rely upon Him, His promises, providence, help, relief, mercy and grace in all our affairs. Psalms 62:8 reminds us to trust in the Lord at all times and pour out our hearts to Him, for He is our refuge. We are called to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and not on our own intelligence, but to rely upon Him in all our ways and He will keep our paths straight.

PRAYER

Some trust in chariots and others in horses, but we trust in Your name Lord our God. Your name is a strong tower Jesus Christ, we run to it and are safe. We run to You Lord our God and find peace and rest for our souls. We run to You and have the hope our salvation. May You level the mountains for us and make a way even where there seems to be no way. May You make a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. May You make every crooked path straight. May You break every chain and make us prosperous in every area of our lives. We trust in You dear Lord Jesus knowing that You have made us more than conquerors in You. You are our God and Lord in whom we put our trust. May You guide us throughout this week and open many doors for us to prosper. We love You Lord and bless Your name, and it is in Jesus name we pray believing and trusting. Amen

Psalms 37:3-4 NKJV

“Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.”

INSIGHT

-The believer who truly trust in God have the capability to find true delight in Him. The reason why many apparent Christians do not delight in the Lord is that they do not seek to know Him, and do not spend time with Him. There is legitimate joy and pleasure in life for believers who truly trust in God, for they have the capability to find true delight in Him. Their hearts desires are accomplished and prayers fulfilled in God’s perfect timing. We are also encouraged to do good and God will continually release His inheritance upon us.

PRAYER

Oh Lord You are my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? You are my defense, whom shall I dread? Who among the gods is like You, Oh Lord? Who is like You, majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders. May You protect us with Your precious blood and preserve us with Your hedge of fire, from premature death and diseases. May You heal all those who are sick and suffering among us. May You grant us the grace to live long and fulfilled lives filled with abundance of joy and prosperity. May You bless us and release Your inheritance upon us. May You meet all our needs according to Your riches in glory dear Lord Jesus. We believe in You and hope in You. May the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forever more. Amen

1 Peter 2:6-7 NIV

“For in Scripture it says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.” Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,”

INSIGHT

-Peter here paints the picture of Jesus Christ as the cornerstone and believers are the living stones. The cornerstone determines the design and orientation of the building as the most significant stone in the structure. Two attitudes therefore come out clearly from these scriptures, those who reject Christ and stumble, but those who trust in Him are delivered from shame.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus we believe in You, we trust in You, we enthrone You, we exult You, we honor You and put all our trust in You. Lord Jesus You are the stone that the builders rejected and have become the chief cornerstone. You are the chosen and precious  cornerstone stone. Those who believe in You according to Your word will never be put to shame. We believe in You dear Lord Jesus and trust in You with confidence that You will deliver us from any form of shame, either currently or in the future. May You liberate us from any temptation and sin that so easily ensnares us and grant us rest in Your presence. May Your mercies which are new each morning overcome every weight of sin as we rely upon You dear Lord Jesus our precious cornerstone. May You forgive us all our trespasses and wash us with Your precious blood. May You deliver all those who are suffering in the street without food, shelter and clothing, and grant them rest in the purposes for which You have called them. May You bless the love of Christ foundation and those whose rely on it, and prosper all our plans according to Your great purpose. We ask all this through Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen

Psalms 119:42 NKJV

“So shall I have an answer for him who reproaches me, For I trust in Your word.”

INSIGHT

-Trusting in God entails believing in His word. John 1:1 reminds us that, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Jesus Christ is the Word of God and when we believe in Him we have the gift of eternal life. He is the true Light that illuminates every darkness in our hearts, that we may have life and life in abundance. God calls us to believe in His promises revealed through His Word, and rely upon it for it true and living.

PRAYER

Your word dear Lord Jesus is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. May You search our hearts and see whether there is any offensive way in us, and lead us in the way everlasting. May You create in us clean hearts and renew a steadfast spirit within us. Your promises dear Lord Jesus and yes and amen. Your promises never fail but they will surely come to pass at Your appointed time. You are so faithful Abba Father to keep Your promises. May You bring every promise in our lives, families, churches, ministries and nation to pass in Jesus name. We honor Your name and worship You now and forever. Amen

Psalms 52:7-9 NKJV

“Here is the man who did not make God his strength, But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness.” But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever. I will praise You forever, Because You have done it; And in the presence of Your saints I will wait on Your name, for it is good.”

INSIGHT

-Some wretchedly deceive themselves, and think they can support themselves in power and wealth without God. They trust in the abundance of their riches and often times think that money can deliver from any calamity until they lie on their death-bed and alas remember their Maker. We are called to rely and trust in God, in whatever situation and He will deliver us and grant us His sure peace.

SUMMARY

Trust is the foundation for any relationship. When someone is truthful, we trust what they say. When someone is reliable, we trust them to finish what they start. When someone is strong, we trust them to protect their own. Character and integrity are the basic building blocks of trust. Trusting in God is a system of harnessing true wisdom, otherwise one may end up wasting strength which might be profitably employed. God calls us to trust Him with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding and in all our ways submit to Him, and He will make our paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6). We may have many plans in our heart’s but it is God’s purpose that prevails (Proverbs 19:21). Trusting in God unreservedly is the foundation of our faith. Jesus told Thomas that, “blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed”. Faith is believing in that which is unseen. Sometimes it is pegged in the Word of God, and we called to trust in Him, for Christ is the Word (John 1:1). When we trust in God and His promises, we are delivered from shame (1 Peter 2:6-7).  Faith is also believing that whatever we cannot do on our own. We believe that God can do it for us. Some trust in their wealth, wisdom, power, connections, beauty, strength, but unfortunately these cannot satisfy better than when we trust in God. Trusting in God’s timing is key that we may understand the purpose for which He has called us. When we experience delay, we need to submit to God’s will and purpose and He shall answer our prayers and hearts desires. When we are faced by trouble and difficulties, we are called to trust in God our refuge and strength (Nahum1:7). When we are anxious and our hearts are troubled, we are called to submit to Christ and trust in Him for He will deliver us and become our salvation (John 14:1).

PRAYER

Your name Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and are safe. We run to You Lord with our fears and troubles, anxieties and pain, and find safety. We run to You Lord with joy and thankful hearts, hope and faith, and find rest for our soul. We run to You Lord our strength and shield that You may deliver us from shame and the evil one. We run to You dear Jesus that You may deliver us from delay and humbly ask You to answer our prayers, and hearts desires. We run to You dear Lord Jesus that You may heal our hearts, bodies, loved ones, families and nation. We surrender to You Lord God Almighty that You may transform us to be more like You dear Jesus. May You bless us and keep us dear Jesus. May You make Your face shine upon us and be gracious to us. May You lift up Your countenance towards us and grant us peace. Amen
