SHARING

Proverbs 19:17 ‘He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, And He will pay back what he has given.’

INSIGHT -The Lord rewards every good & merciful deed towards the poor. -Giving to the poor is like lending to the Lord & the reward will be great.

PRAYER: God of heaven, have pity on me & instill the heart of mercy in me. Direct me in emulating Your works of giving to the poor as a gesture of lending to You Lord. Father as You say in your word, I believe that You reward as You please, here on earth &/or with eternity. All this for Your glory Lord. Amen.

John 6:5-9 Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do. Philip answered Him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little.” One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him, “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?”

INSIGHT -Jesus feeds 5000 people. -Phillip looked at the monetary value of bread & was not willing to share. -Let’s emulate the lad & Andrew Simon Peter’s brother who were willing to share the little they had. -Let us also trust in Jesus who with the little that you are willing & able to share that He may perform a multiplicity miracle in our lives & have left overs. -During this time of lent let us remember others who don’t have basic needs as we deny ourself meat on Fridays & share with them.

PRAYER:  Father I come to you in humility asking for forgiveness. Guide me in fasting & prayer in my heart so that I may be kind to others who don’t have & in doing Your Holy will. Multiply my skills, talents & work of my hands as I share what I have in Faith like Andrew. Amen.

1 Timothy 6:18-19 Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

INSIGHT -The word says that we should be willing to give, share & do good works. -In doing this, we store up our treasures in heaven as we secure eternal life.

PRAYER: Father God, as I yearn to lay a good foundation in good works of giving & sharing, be my guide. Lead me in how, where & when to give as You love a cheerful giver. Lord, at the end of all this; I wish to inherit eternal life. Amen.

Luke 3:10-11 So the people asked him, saying, “What shall we do then?” He answered and said to them, “He who has two tunics, let him give to him who has none; and he who has food, let him do likewise.”

INSIGHT -John the Baptist addressed the people regarding their present life. -He sayed, whoever has an extra garment or plate of food to share with those who don’t have. -As we skip meat today & fast during this lenten season, let us share with those who need us most.

PRAYER: Father in heaven, have mercy on me & on all those who don’t have basic needs. Provide for us as all riches belong to You. Give me the grace to share with my brothers & sisters who need me most. Guide & direct my steps during this period of giving, fasting & prayer. Amen. Please meditate the theme, sharing.
