Proverbs 16:12-18 NKJV

“It is an abomination for kings to commit wickedness, For a throne is established by righteousness. Righteous lips are the delight of kings, And they love him who speaks what is right. As messengers of death is the king’s wrath, But a wise man will appease it. In the light of the king’s face is life, And his favor is like a cloud of the latter rain. How much better to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver. The highway of the upright is to depart from evil; He who keeps his way preserves his soul. Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.”

INSIGHT

-King Solomon admitted that it was possible for kings to commit wickedness. He was committed to God during his reign initially but after marrying so many wives and had numerous concubines, they dissuaded his commitment to God and drew him to other gods (1 Kings 11:4). The righteous life of a king invites God’s blessing upon his life and reign. Because of this great potential and influence, it is an even greater sin for kings to commit wickedness. Proverbs 14:34 reminds us that, “Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people.” Let us repent on behalf of our president and nation, that our Lord may forgive us and restore us as a people.

PRAYER

Abba Father, our great and mighty King, We bow down before Your presence this day in total adoration. We thank You for all You have done in our lives and in our nation of Kenya oh Lord. We thank You for our leaders and all the people of the land of Kenya. We exalt You and magnify You for You have been so faithful to us. Father, may You receive all glory, honor, and praise for Your great and mighty deeds. Father we come before You in total repentance, praying that You may forgive our sins, sins of our president, sins of our leaders, and sins of our nation. May You forgive us all oh Lord for the wickedness we have done. Father may You heal our land and restore our nation. May You cleanse our land, our people and our leaders by Your precious blood. May You enforce Your righteousness over our land and leadership and grant us Your peace and mercies oh Lord. We pray that You shall be the one to reign and be exalted above all in Kenya and all idols and all the other gods will fade away and all will bow to You our King of kings. Dear Father we pray for righteousness, wisdom and understanding shall be upon our leaders. We thank You for You have heard us and will do so according to You good and perfect will. We pray this believing and trusting in Jesus Christ Holy and Mighty Name, Amen.

John 16:8 NKJV

And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:”

INSIGHT

Our precious Holy Spirit pierces our hearts with conviction of sin and gives us new life in Jesus Christ. He makes us born again not by good works but according to the mercy and grace of God and thus obtain His righteousness. Those who refuse to believe in Jesus Christ, bear the judgment that comes through sin and the penalty of everlasting condemnation that the devil has received eternally together with his angels. God has put His Spirit in us and we are called to follow His statutes. Since Christ purchased us at a price on the cross, our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit who dwells and lives in us. When one blasphemes the Holy Spirit there is no forgiveness (Matthew 12:30-32), since He tells us of the need of Christ in our lives leading to salvation. We are called to have faith in Jesus Christ and acknowledge Him as our Lord and Savior, and the Holy Spirit with indwell in us and teaches us all things.

PRAYER

Holy Spirit we love You. Thank You for dwelling with us this far and forevermore. Thank You for You convict us of sin, righteousness and judgment. May You draw us near to You for the glory of Jesus Christ our Friend. We are sorry for every time we have sinned and grieved You, may You forgive us and cleanse us from our sins and iniquities. May You create in us clean hearts and renew a steadfast Spirit within us. May You wash us with Your precious blood. May You look to us with Your mercy that we may inherit Your kingdom of heaven, together with our households and the whole world. May Your gift of salvation reach the unreached in the world. We pray this believing and trusting in Jesus mighty name. Amen

1 Kings 3:16-27 NKJV

“Now two women who were harlots came to the king, and stood before him. And one woman said, “O my Lord, this woman and I dwell in the same house; and I gave birth while she was in the house. Then it happened, the third day after I had given birth, that this woman also gave birth. And we were together; no one was with us in the house, except the two of us in the house. And this woman’s son died in the night, because she lay on him. So she arose in the middle of the night and took my son from my side, while your maidservant slept, and laid him in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom. And when I rose in the morning to nurse my son, there he was, dead. But when I had examined him in the morning, indeed, he was not my son whom I had borne.” Then the other woman said, “No! But the living one is my son, and the dead one is your son.” And the first woman said, “No! But the dead one is your son, and the living one is my son.” Thus they spoke before the king. And the king said, “The one says, ‘This is my son, who lives, and your son is the dead one’; and the other says, ‘No! But your son is the dead one, and my son is the living one.’ ” Then the king said, “Bring me a sword.” So they brought a sword before the king. And the king said, “Divide the living child in two, and give half to one, and half to the other.” Then the woman whose son was living spoke to the king, for she yearned with compassion for her son; and she said, “O my Lord, give her the living child, and by no means kill him!” But the other said, “Let him be neither mine nor yours, but divide him.” So the king answered and said, “Give the first woman the living child, and by no means kill him; she is his mother.”

INSIGHT

King Solomon sought wisdom from the Lord and prayed that God would grant him understanding to become a righteous ruler. His righteous judgement was tested when two women came to the King with two young babies, one alive and the other dead. Both claimed that the living child was their own and that the other woman was only pretending to be the mother of the surviving infant. When the decree was made to separate the living child into two, the rightful mother was discovered. God grants wisdom to those who ask Him without finding fault and generously (James 1:5). Let us continue praying that the wisdom of God will always dwell within us and in our leaders that they may administer justice upon those who are oppressed.

PRAYER

Lord You are Great and greatly to be praised, we honor and praise Your holy name. You are the One who endows the king with Your justice and Your children with righteousness. May You fill our leaders with Your right judgement so that they may administer justice upon Your people. We pray for the release of all the abducted citizens that Lord You may intervene and set them all free. We pray for the persecuted Christians all over the world that Lord You may rescue them and grant them peace. May You release Your justice upon the orphans, widows, widowers, fatherless that dear Lord You may remember them with Your merciful love. May You train us to love one another as You have loved us dear Jesus. We love You Lord and enthrone You. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

Psalms 11:7 NIV

“For the Lord is righteous, he loves justice; the upright will see his face.”

INSIGHT

-God is exalted in judgment and hallowed in righteousness (Isaiah 5:16). God is faithful and without iniquity, He is just and upright (Deuteronomy 32:4). God has shown us, what is good. He requires that we do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with Him (Micah 6:8). Since God has justified us by faith, we have peace with Him through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God (Romans 5:1-2)and we will see Him as He is when He comes again.

SUMMARY

Justice is not just an abstract concept but an active commitment to a course. It is a calling to live in a way that reflects the very character of God. The justice of God is a harmonious blend of righteousness, truth, mercy, and love. It reaches beyond punishment and reward, extending into the realm of restoration, fairness, and compassion. Justice that comes from God runs down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream (Amos 5:24). Righteousness and justice are the foundation of God’s throne; mercy and truth goes before His face (Psalms 89:14). God revealed His decision to destroy the nations of Sodom and Gomorrah to Abraham, for he was a righteous man and acted with justice to instruct his children in the same formula (Genesis 18:17-19). Abraham interceded on behalf of the two nations, and his nephew Lot together with his family were salvaged from destruction. Proverbs 16:12 reminds us thatIt is an abomination for kings to commit wickedness, for a throne is established by righteousness. We have been called to commit our president and other leaders to prayer that they may hearken their hearts to the voice of God and follow His righteous judgements. Solomon was a wise ruler. He asked for understanding that he may lead the people in righteousness and justice and this matter pleased the Lord. His wisdom is demonstrated in the tale of the righteous decree he gave when two women were fighting over a living child. Then he ordered that the infant be slit into two, and the mom was discovered (1 Kings 3:16-27). God reveals the secret to obtain righteous and justice. When we commit our ways to God and trust in Him, He shall reveal our righteousness as a light and justice as the noonday (Psalms 37:5-6). The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment (John 16:8). He invites us to humble ourselves before Him and He will lift us up.

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father we come before You acknowledging Your sovereignty and Your boundless love for all creation. We recognize that You as the ultimate source of justice, the One who champions the cause of the oppressed, the needy, and the marginalized. We find hope and freedom in You Lord. Dear Lord Jesus, we pray that the our nation and the whole world will be filled with Your justice. May You awaken in us a profound longing for righteousness, equity, and fairness in our homes, communities, nations, and the world at large. May You fill us with Your Holy Spirit that we may always be instruments of Your justice, acting justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly with You, our God. We believe that we shall be extremely fruitful since we abide in You and You in us. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives and we shall dwell in Your house forever. May the Lord bless You and keep You, may He shine His face upon You and be gracious to You. May He lift up You His countenance towards You and give You peace. Amen
