THEME: NOTHING WITHOUT FAITH
2 Corinthians 5:7-8
“For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.”
INSIGHT
-God calls us to live by faith, the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not yet seen. We should then be steadfast in faith and not walk by sight so that we may realize the true treasures that the Lord has in store for us, for if we draw back; God has no pleasure in us and can access nothing without faith. Like Abraham who believed God having been promised many descendants, a father of many nations; yet his wife Sarah was barren, God calls us to have faith in Him despite our fears, doubts and shortcomings that cloud our confidence in Him. Abraham trusted in God despite his old age and the deadness of Sarah’s womb, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. In whatever we purpose or seek to do, we should focus our eyes only on Christ the author and finisher of our faith and be confident in His promises towards us. We are called to have faith in the promises of God revealed through His word and trust Him who says, “ I am with you always; even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20). We are justified through faith in Christ, and if we believe in Him we should wait on Him who is not slack concerning His promises and He will give us all good things according to His abundant grace towards us.
PRAYER
Thank You God our Father for Your merciful love upon us that You have made us see yet another day in perfect peace. We have seen Your hand of mercy upon our lives, families, jobs, businesses, purposes and nation even during these troubling times of COVID-19. We come to Your throne of grace asking for Your mercy and grace, hear us Oh Lord. Your have said in Your word that You will never leave us nor forsake us Your children and You will be with us until the end of time, we trust in You Holy Spirit. Make a way for us where there seems to be no way and deliver us from all our fears and troubles. Guide us throughout the week and take charge of all that we purpose to do for only You know all things. Open doors for us Lord that no man can close and close those that no man can open. Help us to multiply, subdue and fill the earth according to Your divine will. May the dew of heaven fall upon us, our businesses, jobs, families, churches, society, nation and entire world, so that we may bear much fruit. You are the Vine Lord and we are Your branches, help us to bear much fruit for apart from you we can do nothing. We seek Your face always Lord, have mercy on us and cover us with Your precious blood. You are the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last Jesus, we glorify You and praise Your holy name, now and forever. Amen
