THEME: COMPASSION

1 Peter‬ ‭3:8-12‬ ‭

“Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. For “He who would love life and see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil.”

INSIGHT

-The Lord reminds us to love one another, to be of the same mind; the mind of Christ by showing compassion, courtesy, tenderness and love. He has commanded us to love Him with all our hearts, souls and minds, and our neighbors as ourselves; and shun from all evil. Gods’ eyes are on those who seek His righteousness and He hears their prayers but is against evil doers. He corrects those who He loves; so that He May dwell richly in our hearts. God calls us to do good to others as it would be pleasing if the same would be done to us; seeking true peace. To do good always and not return evil for evil but share in Gods’ love and blessings. To speak the truth always and edify others with our tongues. God is gracious, full of compassion and righteousness and reminds us to remain in His light (Ps 112:4‬).

PRAYER
You are full of kindness Father, tender in mercy, everlasting in love, we bless Your holy name. You have promised never to leave us nor forsake us Jesus, have mercy on us and shepherd us in all things. Fill us Holy Spirit with Your fruit and gifts that we may share in Your love, tenderness, courtesy and blessings according to Your divine purposes. Our Father who at in heaven; hallowed be Your name; Your Kingdom come; Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread & forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptations but deliver us from evil; for thine is the Kingdom the power & the glory; forever & ever. Amen
