THEME: LEADERSHIP – MODEL OF JESUS

Mark 1:35 NKJV

“Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed”.

INSIGHT

–Jesus often isolated himself and went to a solitary place to pray. Jesus prayed and fasted for forty days and forty nights and He was tempted by the devil (Matthew 4:1-11). Jesus reveals that some form of demons can only come out by nothing but prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29). After feeding the 5000, Jesus dismissed the crowds and went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, He was still there alone (Matthew 14:23). In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus was steadfast in prayer as He prepared for His passion, knowing that God would give Him strength and courage to overcome. Jesus also taught us to pray. It is then paramount for every leader to turn to God and pray all the time and in all things.

PRAYER

Abba Father our Father we honor You and enthrone You, all creation glorifies You, all creation gives You praise. May You teach us how to pray according to Your divine will and purpose, and walk with us in our journey of faith. Help us to pray without ceasing, hear our prayers and answer us dear Lord Jesus. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, lead us not into temptations and but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen
