THEME: SUPPLICATION

Ephesians 6:10-18 NKJV

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—”

INSIGHT

Paul describes the spiritual battles that take place in heavenly realms. We note that supplication is an effective weapon of war against the snares of the enemy. We are reminded to put on the whole armor of God that we may stand firm against the wiles of the devil and obtain victory in our spiritual battles. We are called to gird our waist with truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation and sword of the spirit, which are symbolic and empower us to overcome all the demonic arrows. By faith we fathom that we are in a real spiritual battle and should be alert watching in prayer always, and supplication in the Spirit. When we stand, we should realize that our human efforts are inadequate, but we need the power of God’s might which is invincible. Paul therefore exhorts us to boast in our infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon us, and when we are weak then we are strong (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).

PRAYER

We come to Your throne of grace with confidence so that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Your grace is sufficient for us dear Lord Jesus, for Your strength is made perfect in weakness, and when we are weak then we are strong for Your power rests upon us. May You cover us with Your precious blood dear Jesus and deliver us from every evil. May You forgive us all our sins and trespasses and wash us with Your blood. May You shield us from every principality, power and ruler of darkness in this age, and against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. We are more than conquerors in You Christ Jesus. Thank You Lord Jesus for Your faithfulness and love upon us. May You look to us with favor dear Jesus and grant us all our requests and deepest desires. May You have mercy upon all those who are sick and suffering that You may heal them. May You touch all the street families who are waiting on You for a miracle that You may deliver them from every captivity. We pray for all those who are waiting on You for spouses that You may make a way for them even where there seems to be no way. We pray for all those who are seeking You for the gift of children that You may hear their supplication and respond favorably. We pray for those who await on You for financial breakthrough that You may do a new thing in their lives. We pray for the revival of our economy that You may heal our land and help us to rebuild that which is broken. May You teach our leaders in government, corporates and churches, to follow after Your wisdom and will. All glory, honor, power and praise belongs to You Jesus, now and forever. Amen
