Zechariah 12:10 NIV
“And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.”
INSGHT
-Supplication is a spirit just like grace that enable believers to travail in prayer. The spirit of grace empowers us to offer our supplications to God Almighty. Both grace and supplication have the same Hebrew root meaning, “to become amenable to someone”. The outpouring of the spirit of grace and supplication results in conviction and repentance. The Holy Spirit therefore breaks through any hostility to the Messiah, making the inhabitants of His kingdom receptive to Him.
PRAYER
Lord we thank You for Your abounding grace upon us. Your grace is sufficient for us, for Your power is made perfect in weakness. May Your grace abound in us to say no to every sin and to become more like You Jesus. May You deliver us from every weakness, sin and trespass dear merciful Savior and give us victory in all things. May You pour out Your spirit of grace and supplication upon us that we may be empowered when we pray and seek Your presence always. May You light our lamps dear Lord Jesus and enlighten our darkness, that we may see You more clearly and serve You as You please. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forever more. Amen
