THEME: SUPPLICATION

1 Kings 9:1-7 NKJV

“And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished building the house of the Lord and the king’s house, and all Solomon’s desire which he wanted to do, that the Lord appeared to Solomon the second time, as He had appeared to him at Gibeon. And the Lord said to him: “I have heard your prayer and your supplication that you have made before Me; I have consecrated this house which you have built to put My name there forever, and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually. Now if you walk before Me as your father David walked, in integrity of heart and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded you, and if you keep My statutes and My judgments, then I will establish the throne of your kingdom over Israel forever, as I promised David your father, saying, ‘You shall not fail to have a man on the throne of Israel.’ But if you or your sons at all turn from following Me, and do not keep My commandments and My statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods and worship them, then I will cut off Israel from the land which I have given them; and this house which I have consecrated for My name I will cast out of My sight. Israel will be a proverb and a byword among all peoples.”

INSGHT

-After the Lord appeared to Solomon at Gibeon when he made a great sacrifice to Him, He appeared again after completion of the temple construction. The Lord promised an everlasting dynasty in line with king Solomons supplication, a reaffirmation of the Davidic covenant. However, it was upon Solomon and his sons walking in integrity and uprightness before the Lord. God is calling us to fear Him and keep His commandments which is the whole duty of man (Ecclesiastes 12:13), and always do His will according to His law of love. God is faithful to keep His promise unto us and our families, as He did to our forefathers Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and David.

PRAYER

Dear Lord Jesus, You knew us before we were formed in our mothers’ wombs. You called us into this world for a great purpose. May You have mercy and hear our supplications. May You have mercy on us dear Lord Jesus and guide us in the way that we should go always. May You guide all our going out and coming in dear Jesus. May You guide us with Your eye that we may follow Your statues and will. May You fill us with the spirit of the fear of the Lord that we may only do that which is right and true in Your eyes. May You guide our hearts with uprightness and integrity dear Savior. May You bless the work of our hands and make us prosperous in every good work. May You open the flood gates of heaven and make it rain upon us. May You rebuke the devourer on our behalf even as You guide us in our tithes and offering. May Your purpose for our lives prevail Abba Father. May You release the gift of salvation unto us and all our generations. We love You Lord and bless Your name, and it is in Jesus mighty name we pray believing and trusting. Amen
