THEME: WORTHY IS THE LAMB
Philippians 2:8-11 NIV
“And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
INSIGHT
-Jesus humbled Himself and emptied Himself by laying aside His glory. Through He was God, He submitted to the humiliation brought by the nature of His death; that is, crucifixion. He was led like a sheep to the slaughter and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he did not open his mouth. He knew His purpose and shared it with His disciples and Peter rebuked Him saying, “This shall never happen to you” Jesus said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.” Even though it was not an easy task as we see Jesus pleading with God to remove this cup of suffering from Him, and sweating blood at the garden of Gethsemane, He was obedient to the point of death. God then exulted Him giving Him a name that is above every other name, and He is seated at the right hand of God, and He is therefore worthy to receive all glory, honor and praise.

We thank You for the humility You showed on the cross and for Your obedience and perserverance for our salvation. May You teach us to be humble and obedient as You are dear Jesus, for You change not. Forgive us where we have been proud and disobedient to Your will. We worship You and bless Your name for You are worthy Lord Jesus. At Your name every name should bow and every tongue confess that Jesus You are Lord to the glory of God the Father. Amen
