Genesis 2:6-7 but a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground. And the Lord God formed man... BODY

Genesis 2:6-7 but a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground. And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

INSIGHT -In Hebrew the body is written as gviyah & it means flesh, bone, matter, corpse. -Man of dust of the ground was formed after mist watered the ground & God’s breath formed the spirit giving the body life. -In Psalm 1:3, He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. A righteous man is likened to a tree planted by the rivers where resources are drawn from watered ground where Christ is the living water. This was the position Adam was formed before sin came to the world but Christ got us back to the original position.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, thank you for the gift of life. Protect me from any form of danger & give me good health. Plant me by the rivers so that my leaf will never wither, I will bear fruit in abundance & whatever I do prospers. Amen

Genesis 25:23 And the Lord said to her: “Two nations are in your womb, Two peoples shall be separated from your body; One people shall be stronger than the other, And the older shall serve the younger.”

INSIGHT -Rebekah, Isaacs wife bore twins Esau & Jacob. Jacob bore the 12 tribes of Israel (Gen 35:23-26/ Gen 48:1) while Esau bore the Amalekites (Gen 36:12) who were constantly fighting (Exod 17:16). The body gives offspring which could bring about peace or strife between nations.

PRAYER: Abba Father, thank You for the peace & tranquility that we enjoy in our country. We ask You to continue giving us peace & grant all other nations peace in the world especially Sudan our neighbour. Bless my offspring & let us seek Your protection always. Amen

Romans 8:13-14 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

INSIGHT -Apostle Paul writes that life in the flesh leads to death as Gods sons are led by the Spirit in the way, truth & life. -In 1 Pet 2:11, fleshly lusts war against the soul. In Gal 5:16-18, flesh lusts against the Spirit & Spirit against the flesh. In 1 Cor 6:18, sexual immorality is the only sin against ones own body as the other sins are external. Fleshly lusts cause rebellion with God.

PRAYER: Abba Father, lead me by Your Spirit for I am Your son/daughter. Forgive me from all lusts of the flesh & all sins I have done to offend You. By Your grace & mercy Father my heart is free from condemnation now & forever. Amen

Ecclesiastes 12:3-5 In the day when the keepers of the house tremble, And the strong men bow down; When the grinders cease because they are few, And those that look through the windows grow dim; When the doors are shut in the streets, And the sound of grinding is low; When one rises up at the sound of a bird, And all the daughters of music are brought low. Also they are afraid of height, And of terrors in the way; When the almond tree blossoms, The grasshopper is a burden, And desire fails. For man goes to his eternal home, And the mourners go about the streets.

INSIGHT -King Solomon writes that when the body ages; hands tremble, knees bend, teeth fall off, eyes grow dim, ears shut, sleep goes away, noise becomes a nuisance, one becomes afraid of heights & danger, hair becomes white, the body becomes burden to carry, sexual desires cease, one eventually dies & people mourn. In 2 Cor 4:16, our outward man perishes but the inward man is renewed day by day.

PRAYER: Lord God, bless me with old age. Guide me to accomplish Your will for my life on earth before mourners go to the streets. Renew my inward man day by day. Amen

Matthew 4:3-4 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”

INSIGHT -After Jesus had fasted for 40 days & nights, He was hungry & the devil tempted Him. Jesus’ response was man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Bread fulfils our bodily needs for survival but the Word of God is for spiritual nourishment & a shield to the devils temptations/attacks.
-God requires us to be planted by the river of righteousness/ our bodies can yield either good or bad offsprings/ fleshly lusts war against the soul & spirit/ our bodies age but the inward man is renewed everyday/ temptations are resisted by living in God’s word.

PRAYER: Jesus my Lord, plant me in Your word so that I may resist the devils temptations. You are my protector & strength; do not pass me by. Renew my spirit each day & lead me to the way of righteousness. Amen

Our Father who at in heaven; Hallow be thy Name…
