THEME: MOUNT HOREB

Exodus 17:6-7 NKJV

“Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink.” And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. So he called the name of the place Massah and Meribah, because of the contention of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the Lord, saying, “Is the Lord among us or not?”

INSIGHT

–God instructed Moses to strike a rock at Horeb with his staff to provide water for the Israelites who complained. The place was named Massah which means testing and Meribah which denotes the quarrelling Israelites who doubted God’s presence. The rock is a symbol of Christ who was smitten to provide living water for all believers and release His gift of salvation. God calls us to believe in Him and His grace for He provides for all our needs according to His riches in glory.  

PRAYER

We love You O Lord our strength and rock. Lord You are our fortress and deliverer, our God and strength, in You put our trust. Lord You are our shield and the horn of our salvation. Lord You are our stronghold, we call upon You Lord for You are worthy to be praised and will save us from our enemies. Lord You are on our side, we will not fear, what can man do to us for it is better to trust in You Lord than to put confidence in men and princes. Lord You are on our side, we will not fear. Lord You are the Rock of our salvation. We believe in You dear Jesus and out of our hearts flow rivers of living water. We shall never thirst since in us fountains of living water spring forth to everlasting life. We thank You Lord for You provide for all our needs. We pray this believing and trusting in Jesus mighty name. Amen
