THEME: FEAR OF THE LORD

Luke 1:50-51 NKJV

“And His mercy is on those who fear Him From generation to generation. He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.”

INSIGHT

–Mary recalls God’s mercy as a constant thread in Israel’s history, showing that His love is not temporary but enduring. God’s mercy is given to those who fear Him and submit to Him. This contrasts with the proud, who rely on themselves. Essentially, God’s mercy is not a one-time act but extends from age to age, assuring God’s people that His promises continue from one generation to the next.

SUMMARY

Fear of the Lord is not fright in a terrifying sense, but reverence, respect, and awe to God. The fear of the Lord is foundational to the wisdom that God gives (Proverbs 9:10). Blessed is the person who fears the Lord and delights greatly in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty on earth, generations blessed, wealth and riches will be in his house, and his righteousness endures forever (Proverbs 22:4). Like king Solomon who requested for wisdom and the Lord asked what He should give him (1 Kings 3:5). He requested for wisdom that he may discern between good and evil, and the Lord granted his riches, honor, wealth and long life. With humility and the fear of the Lord are riches and honor and life.  The who duty of man is to fear God and keep His commandments (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14).

PRAYER

Blessed is the one who fears the Lord, who walks in God’s ways, have mercy on us dear Lord Jesus. For we shall eat of the fruit of our hands and it shall be well with us. Our wife shall be like a fruitful vine within our homes. Our children like olive plants around our tables. By Your grace Lord we shall always overcome the snares of sin, satan and death. Where we have not demonstrated humility and fear before You Lord, may You please forgive us merciful Savior. For we are more than conquers in You Christ Jesus. We are more than victorious by Your precious blood and the word of our testimony. May You grant each household the gift of salvation through faith in You Jesus Christ. May You grant us and all people Your gift of eternal life dear Jesus, that we may resurrect in the Day of You Lord. Dear Lord Jesus may You do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ask of or think of according to the power that is at work in us. Lord we trust in You and exalt You. We believe that You are able to do more than we can think of or imagine. We believe that we shall be extremely fruitful since we abide in You and You in us. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives and we shall dwell in Your house forever. May You bless us and keep us loving Father, may You shine Your face upon us and be gracious to us. May You lift up Your countenance towards us and give us peace. Amen
