THEME: GRACE OF GOD

Acts‬ ‭6:8‬ ‭ ‬‬‬‬
“Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people.”

INSIGHT
-Stephen a man full of wisdom and grace was chosen with six others to administer the distribution of food among the widows in the Hellenistic Jewish communities. They were facing harassment from the Hebraic Jews and intervention was imperative. By the grace or God, Stephen performed many signs and miracles which was a blessing to many. Through these signs, he gained traction thus offending members of the Sanhedrin. They accused him of speaking ill about the law and the temple with the intention of killing him. When the Sanhedrin council looked at him, he appeared like an angel displaying the presence of God in their lives. Stephen had great faith in the Lord and when he was confronted to abandon his commitment to God by condemnation to death, he remained steadfast. He was stoned to death and in the process, he looked into heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God (Acts‬ ‭7:55-56). Jesus says, “blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:10). As Christians, we know that persecutions will come but Jesus has promised us that He will never leave us nor forsake us, and through His grace, we will overcome it all.

PRAYER

What shall separate us from Your love Jesus Christ, shall trouble or hardship, persecution or famine, nakedness or danger. Nothing shall separate us from Your love Jesus, we praise You and glorify Your holy name. Thank You for this far that You have brought us and the far that You are taking us. We humbly ask You Lord to grant us the grace to preserver and overcome hardships for when we are weak then we are strong, because You are always in us and with us. Bless all the priests, pastors, bishops, teachers, apostles, prophets and all the ministers of Your gospel who proclaim Your truth. Be with all the persecuted Christians that they may have the faith and courage of Stephen, to preserver to the end. Fill them with Your wisdom, knowledge, understanding and grace that You may use them as vessels for the advancement of Your kingdom. Have mercy on all those who are sick and weak, and facing different challenges in life that Your may hear and answer their prayers. Be with all our school going children that You may comfort them with Your peace as they wait to go back to school. Be with all those who are unmarried and those who are in the process of marriage, that Your wisdom and counsel may never leave their homes. Guide all those who are married with Your grace that they may serve You in their union. Thank You for loving us Jesus Christ and for Your favor and grace upon our live. All glory, honor, power, strength and grace belongs to You now and forever. Amen
