“They made a calf in Horeb, And worshiped the molded image. Thus they changed their glory Into the image of an ox that eats grass. They forgot God their Savior, Who had done great things in Egypt,”
INSIGHT
–While Moses had gone up mount Horeb to receive the ten commandments, the Israelites could not wait for forty days and nights. They acted corruply and made themselves a molded image of a calf for they were a stiff-necked people given to their own lusts (Deuteronomy 9:12-13). The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, who can know it? Only the Lord, searches the heart, test the mind and gives every man according to his ways and fruit of his doing (Jeremiah 17:9-10). Sometimes we fail to clutch to God’s counsel but walk in our own heart’s lusts and counsels, and therefore the need for repentance and restoration.
PRAYER
Lord You have been our Defense and the Rock of our refuge, we worship You. May You fight for us every battle and vindicate us Oh Lord. Lord You are a Father to the fatherless and Defender of widows, vindicate us Oh Lord and fight for us. Arise Oh Lord and let Your enemies be scattered. We rejoice in You Lord exceedingly and sing praises to Your name. We extol You and rejoice before You. May You forgive us every sin and iniquity and deliver us from every idolatry dear Jesus. May You create in us clean hearts and renew a steadfast spirit within us. May You renew our hearts and minds and guide us in Your statutes. May You release every breakthrough and miracle unto us and do a new thing in our lives, families, businesses and nation during this season and this year. All glory, honor, power and grace belongs to You Jesus now and forever. Amen
