THEME: FALSE PROPHETS

1 John 4:1-4 NKJV

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

INSIGHT

–God has given us the gift of discerning of spirits that we may test every spirit (1 Corinthians 12:10). The spirits might be from God, human philosophies, or the devil. Colossians 2:8 cautions us to beware lest anyone cheat us through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. The answer is entrenched within the main text that if any spirit does not confess that Jesus has come in the flesh, that is the spirit of the Antichrist. Some false prophets have formed religions that oppose the message of the Messiah and the foundation of the Christian faith. They denounce the truth of the word of God given to the holy Trinity, that is; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit who is One God. The one who opposes this message is the Antichrist.

PRAYER

We believe and trust in You dear Lord Jesus, that You came in the flesh, died for our sins and resurrected for our victory over sin and death. We believe in God our Abba Father, God our Savior Jesus Christ and God our precious Holy Spirit. May You precious Holy Spirit grant us the gift of discernment to detect the spirit of the false prophets and the Antichrist who have come to deceive even the elect. We know that You who is in us Holy Spirit, You are greater than the one who is in the world and You will deliver us from all evil. May You grant all people, all religions and all nations Your gift of salvation that we may acknowledge You as Lord and Savior over our lives, believe in You Jesus and be partakers of Your eternal life. May You bless us and answer all our prayers and hearts desires. May You revive us, our families, our businesses, our economy and our nation. We honor You and give You praise, and it is in Jesus mighty name we pray. Amen
