THEME: LEADERSHIP – MODEL OF JESUS

Isaiah 53:7-9 NKJV

He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken. And they made His grave with the wicked— But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth.”

INSIGHT

Jesus demonstrates perfect humility through His life. The imagery of a lamb evokes innocence and sacrifice, common in Israelite offerings. We do know that sheep do not resist shearing or slaughter, emphasizing the Servant’s willing surrender. Jesus was oppressed and afflicted, and led like a lamb to the slaughter, yet He did not open His mouth. Jesus’ biggest act of service that showed His humility is when He gave His life for our sins. Jesus showed us the greatest kind of love by laying down His life for us His friends (John 15:13).

We honor You Lord and exult Your name, and it is in Jesus name we pray. Amen
