VICTORY IN CHRIST VICTORY IN CHRIST
2 Samuel 22:47-51 “The Lord lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be my God, the Rock, my Savior! He is the God who... VICTORY IN CHRIST

2 Samuel 22:47-51

“The Lord lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be my God, the Rock, my Savior! He is the God who avenges me, who puts the nations under me, who sets me free from my enemies. You exalted me above my foes; from a violent man you rescued me. Therefore I will praise you, Lord, among the nations; I will sing the praises of your name. “He gives his king great victories; he shows unfailing kindness to his anointed, to David and his descendants forever.”

INSIGHT

-Victory in Hebrew is written as teshuah and it means to triumph, win, conquer and succeed. It can be defined as a success over an enemy in battle or war or an engagement ending in such triumph. King David knew the secret of winning his battles and he put all his trust in the Lord. He completed the conquest begun by Joshua and secured all the boarders. He did not rely on his own strength but enquired of the Lord before his conquest. He defeated the Philistines through a divine strategy that the Lord gave him, as he instructed him saying, “Do not go straight up, but circle around behind them and attack them in front of the poplar tree” (2 Samuel 5:23). He conquered the Jebusite fortress of Jerusalem (2 Samuel 5:6-10), he defeated the Moabites who opposed his authority (2 Samuel 8:2), he defeated the Aramean kingdoms of Hadadezer, Damascus and Maakah, and put them under tribute (2 Samuel 8:3-8), he subdued Edom and incorporated it under his empire (2 Samuel 8:13-14), he also defeated Ammonites and brought them into subjection (2 Samuel 12:26-31). The Lord gave David victory wherever he went (2 Samuel 8:14). In Psalm 20:7 king David notes that, some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. The Lord established his kingdom forever through Jesus Christ. The Lord promised to give the people an inheritance which He faithfully did. This was a picture of an eternal inheritance that we receive when we believe in Jesus Christ. It is through faith in God that we obtain victory through the challenges that we face in our live, and have an eternal blessing through Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Prince of peace and calls all people and nations to have peace through Him.

1 John 5:4-5

“for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God”.

INSIGHT

-When Nicodemus did not understand what is to be born again, Jesus discloses that, “no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit” (John 3:5). Therefore, whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and anyone who belong to the Spirit overcomes the world. Also, everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. To have victory in Christ then, we need to have faith in Him so that we can belong to Him and His Kingdom.

PRAYER

Abba Father our God, we thank You for Your goodness and mercy upon our lives. Thank You for adopting us as Your sons and daughters through Christ our Lord and Savior. We are more that conquerors for we are in You Jesus, we praise Your holy name. Nothing is impossible with You Lord, thank You for the victories that You continue to grant us. We are more than overcomers in You Jesus; for we belong to You. Thank You for the victory that You gave us through Your death and resurrection. Thank You for Your everlasting love upon us. All our hope and trust is in You. We declare that we are walking in victory in all our work, ministries, purposes, projects, contracts, leadership, families, nation and all things. Nothing is impossible with You dear Jesus, victory belongs to You. Thank You Jesus for loving us and for the grace and favor that You continuously accord us. Everything that has delayed or withheld from us has coming forth in Your name Jesus. Barrenness, slackness, poverty, sickness, pain, shame and premature death is not our portion for we belong to You Jesus. We belong to Your Kingdom Jesus. Let all the people trust in You Jesus for only You are the Door to salvation. Thank You Jesus for loving us. We pray all this believing us trusting in Your name Jesus. Amen

Psalms 20:5-6

“May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the Lord grant all your requests. Now this I know: The Lord gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand.”

INSIGHT

-Victory is accompanied by praise. The Bible tells us to give thanks in all situations for this is the will of God through Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 5:18). We should also note that fear repels victory and brings forth defeat. When Moses sent the twelve spies to the land of Canaan, ten brought forth an evil report. Why was the report classified an evil report? It was filled with doubt, fear, panic and unbelief. The men disclosed that the inhabitants therein were of great stature. Probably this was true but Caleb encouraged the people saying, “Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it” (Numbers 13:30). Caleb had the recipe required to conquer the enemy. Doubt and fear is a catalyst for destruction, but God calls us to faith and to encourage ourselves in Him. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7). The ten spies had a negative mindset, attitude and unbelief which was evidenced through their speech; leading to their death in the wilderness. The devils weapon is fear and anxiety which he uses to kill, steal and destroy. Joshua and Caleb on the other-hand were courageous and put their faith in God. The Lord granted them access to the promised land. The Lord reminds us that when we ask, we should have faith and not doubt because if we doubt, we will not receive anything from Him  (James 1:6-7). We are called to have courage and maintain a positive attitude filled with faith, even when challenges come. To also declare positive proclamations founded on grace and the Lord will grant us victory in all things. God reminds us that we should not be anxious about anything but in everything give thanks. When we combine faith with thanksgiving, we conquer every obstacle that comes our way, and the Lord grants us all our requests by the victorious power of His right hand.

PRAYER

We shout for joy over Your victory Jesus and lift up Your banner in all the earth. May Your praises be always on our lips. May Your glory be ever present in our hearts. May Your power be evident in our walk with You. You only are our Lord and King Jehovah, our Strength and our Shield, our Rock and our Fortress on whom we stand. We praise You and exult Your holy name. We shall not be moved because You are with us and in us. We belong to You Jesus. Even when the storms come, we shall not be moved. Even when diseases, pestilence and drought come, we shall not be moved. We shall not be smitten by the sun by day nor the moon by night; for we rest secure in You Jesus our Stronghold and Shield. We belong to You Jesus. We shall not be shaken by any situation. Forgive us for every unbelief in our hearts and minds, and increase our faith Jesus. We break every spirit of fear, intimidation, anxiety and every chain from our live and families by Your precious blood Jesus. We approach Your throne of grace with confidence so that we may obtain mercy and grace to help us during our time of need. Your grace is sufficient for us and Your power is made perfect in weakness. May the grace our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forever more. Amen

Matthew 12:20-21

“A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out, till he has brought justice through to victory. In his name the nations will put their hope.”

INSIGHT

-Isaiah prophesies of the coming Messiah. Jesus our Savior whose death and resurrection was and still is the most significant victory ever evidenced in history. He was bruised but did not break, scourged but was not destroy, crucified and died but resurrected, buried and remains to be the wick that illuminates the world. Christ died for the sins of the world. Therefore all our sins were imputed on Him, we who believe in Him and have the gift of salvation. He conquered death and swallowed it up in victory. We then ask, “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” (1 Corinthians 15:55). If we share in the first resurrection, the second death has no power over us (Revelation 20:6). We then have victory in Jesus Christ who reconciled us to the Father and brought us near by His blood, when we were far off. Therefore, when He comes to judge the world as the Righteous Judge, we who believe in Him will be declared righteous since we rely on His righteousness and not our own. Our sins are on Christ and not on us. He died once and for all, and His blood will forever be upon us. This is our hope in His salvation. Therefore, we are more than conquerors through Christ who loved us, and nothing can separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:37-39). We also got the privilege of adoption into the royal family of God, we are sons and daughters of the King of kings. We are citizens of heaven, and do not belong to this world even if we live in it. One may ask are we here then if we are not of this world ? This is the divine will of God. We are on assignment, and each one has a purpose to accomplish just like Christ did. In the name of Jesus we then put our hope in Him, for our victory is in Him.

PRAYER

Thank You Jesus for the victory that You obtained for us. Thank You for the victory that we have in You. Thank You for Your blood that takes away our sins, forgive us dear Jesus. Thank You for Your abounding grace upon our lives. Thank You for the gift of salvation to us and to all our descendants. We humbly ask You to grant this most precious gift to all people, including those in our families, social circles and leadership. Thank You for redeeming us and reconciling us to the Father. Thank You for Your saving grace upon us. We shall not die but live to declare Your goodness Lord. Even if we die we shall live; because the One who lives in us is greater than the one who is in the world. We shall live because You live Jesus. We are more than conquerors in You Jesus. Nothing can separate us from Your love. Thank You for loving us Jesus, we love You. Nothing can separate us from Your love, neither death nor life, angels nor demons, the present nor the future, height nor depth, powers nor anything else in all creation, can separate us from Your love Jesus. Thank You for loving us with Your everlasting love. Set us free from all negativity, hardening of heart, immaturity, unforgiveness, hate, lying, ego, soul ties, lusts, corruption, evil entanglements, financial debts, unforgiveness, shame, hurt, pain, loss, delay and any other evil thing. Whoever the Son sets free is free indeed. Set us free dear Jesus. Set our society and nation free Jesus. We uproot every evil seed planted in our hearts, souls and minds, it shall not take root in Your name Jesus. We receive only that which emanates from Your mind Lord. Seeds of hope, destiny, power, holiness, godliness, righteousness, blessings, power, dominion and victory. We shall be victorious in all that we do. We receive divine inspiration, revelation, innovation, tactics, strategies, opportunities, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, divine promises, fruit and gifts to fill our hearts, minds and entire being. Our future, nation, government, church, families, children, friendships, relationships, anointing, future, influence are blessed. We secure our future by Your blood Jesus. We shall accomplish our purposes here on earth according to Your will dear Jesus. We rely on Your grace Jesus. We pray this believing and trusting in Jesus name. Amen

Proverbs 21:31

“The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord.”

INSIGHT

-Several instances in the Bible have seen the phrase, “The battle belongs to the Lord”. This includes and not limited to, 1 Samuel 17:47; when David defeated Goliath, 2 Chronicles 20:15; when King Jehoshaphat vanquished the Moabites and Midianites etc. Apostle Paul also submits part of his final exhalations to the Ephesians enlightening them that, in order to assess victory in Christ, one requires to be strong in the Lord and His might power, but not in our own power (Ephesians 6:10). When we submit our battles to the Lord with humility, He crowns us with victory (Psalms 149:4).

SUMMARY

All pure metals are non-ferrous elements except iron. Iron is classified as the most abundant of all metals. In its pure form, it rapidly corrodes from exposure to moist, air and high temperatures. It is almost impossible to destroy iron but it’s own rust can. Likewise, anyone who does not faith destroys himself from inside. Jesus says that nothing external defiles a person but only what comes from the heart (Mark 7:18-19). Nothing can destroy a person faster than his/her unbelief, negative attitude and evil thoughts. The Lord calls us to be transformed by the renewing of our mind, that we may prove what is His good and acceptable and perfect will (Romans 12:2). We are also called to maintain a positive mindset through faith. Only in Jesus Christ do we find life in abundance. Sometimes life situations bog us down and we get discouraged. Jesus calls us to Himself when we are downcast and heavily laden and He gives us rest. To cast all our burdens and cares unto Him for He cares for us. Rust on transmission gears gradually reduces its rotation speed and finally kills the entire function of the system. Likewise unbelief in our hearts slowly kills our souls and we begin to malfunction. When fear and unbelief creeps into our hearts, we develop stress which leads to depression, and if not administered, one commits suicide. COVID-19 pandemic has taught us that everything may fail including:- health, doctors, vaccines, money, power and connections, but only God can never fail. Jesus died for our sins and has adopted us as His children, and we belong to Him. Let us never loose hope and courage for nothing can separate us from His love. Our faith in Christ is like the wheel of iron which keep our entire system going. It positively imparts our spirits, our souls and bodies to function as God intends us to. Without faith we cannot please God for He rewards those who earnestly seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). Lot was saved with his entire family, and during their escape, his wife lost faith and looked back. Sadly, she turned into a pillar of salt. Jesus is not pleased with those take the plough and look back and he is not fit for His kingdom (Luke 9:62). Let us have strong faith which imparts into us His righteousness, leading to victorious lives. Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness. When we pray let us not look back with double-mindedness for God does not respond (James 1:6-7). We are called to focus on Christ the author and finisher of our faith, and never loose hope. We are victorious in Christ and always maintain the right focus on Him and cultivate positive confessions which is good food for our souls. Unbelief erodes our hope in Christ and we end up loosing the price. Joshua and Caleb believed they had what it takes to conquer the enemy even when the saw giants, they gave a good report and inherited the promised land. It is through such faith in Christ that we inherit His eternal Kingdom. Christ died for our sins so that we may live victorious lives. He is seated at the right hand of the Father in glory and we are seated with Him in heavenly places. It is this sure hope that we have in Christ for eternal life.

PRAYER

We praise You Abba Father our God. We exult You and worship You in spirit and in truth. We humble ourselves before You asking for mercy and grace. Touch our hearts and remove all forms of fear and unbelief from us. Increase in us faith so that we may please You. Fill our hearts with hope for we trust in You alone. Remember merciful Savior all those who are sick, suffering and depressed that You may make them whole. Be with all nations which are hard hit by COVID-19 and face war, that You may deliver them. Deliver our nation from corruption dear Jesus and streamline our leadership. Deliver us dear Jesus from all our challenges that we face and answer our hearts desires. Break every chain in our lives, families and nation by Your blood Jesus for the battle belongs to You. We break through every impenetrable walls and barricades in the realm of the supernatural in Your name Jesus. We take authority over all that belongs to us and take our possessions in Your name Jesus. We cancel and break every form of witchcraft, curse or evil word pronounced against us, our families and nation. Redeem all the souls of our loved ones from demonic entanglements and bondages. Remove us from the sentence of death and curses from our blood lines and give us abundant life. We take possession of all that belongs to us in Your name Jesus. Thank You Jesus for giving us victory through Your blood. Thank You for loving us. Lead us Holy Spirit in the way that we should go. Teach us to do Your will Holy Spirit, we humbly beseech You. All our hope and trust is in You. All glory, honor, power, dominion and strength belongs You Jesus now and forever. Amen
