THEME: CORRUPTION OF FLESH

Genesis 6:11-13

“The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.”

INSIGHT

-After Adam and Eve fell, sin grew on the face of the earth and it displeased God, and He brought judgement through a flood. From the book of 2 Peter 2:5-9 we find that; Noah lived a separated life and the Lord saved him with his entire household; because he was a righteous man. God also condemned the city of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless. If this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment. We also know that the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life are not of the Father but of the world. The world is passing away and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever (1 John 2:16-17). We are reminded to return to God through repentance as we humbly ourselves, pray and be careful to do His will. To live separated lives like Noah and Lot, and seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness, and all other things will be added unto us. To put our trust in God alone and not in our social status, money, health, power which are fleeting. But to fear God for only He can destroy both the body and the soul, and when we fear Him, we shall live in safety despite the challenges that come our way. We should also remember that we are the light of the world and are called to demonstrate Christ-likeness through our words and actions; so that others may see and glorify the Father in heaven. Finally, despite the challenges that we are facing with the corona virus, we should not to be anxious about anything but in everything through prayer, supplication and thanksgiving to make our requests known to God and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
