1 Corinthians 13:11
“When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”
INSIGHT
-Natural childhood & infancy is analogous to spiritual maturity & sonship given the above context with exposure to Gods’ word. A child’s speech, understanding & thought process vanish with time; all other things held constant. Like a child is taught how to walk, talk, write, eat etc, one who submits to God the Father with a pure & contrite heart has the privilege to see God in their lives & to be led in many spheres. Some have deliberately refused to change their mindset, evil interactions, unforgiveness, sinful ways having knowledge of the truth & have looked back into their past lives which has turned them into pillars of salt like Lot’s wife, yielding spiritual stagnation & death. God desires that we follow Him as children of light knowing that the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Jesus our Lord & Saviour calls us to take heed to His word, change our thinking & consequently change their lives & the lives of others; in a progression of lordship.
PRAYER
We humble beseech You Jesus our Lord & Saviour, have mercy on us & deliver us from all evil that may cause a stagnation in our lives. Forgive us our sins, sins of our families, friends, leaders, nation & those of the whole world. Cleanse us by Your precious blood Jesus from all sins we have committed either knowingly & unknowingly, those in our thoughts & in our hearts, sins of our utterances & those we have repeatedly committed; & remember them no more. Give us the grace Jesus to walk as children of light & truth that we may put away all childish things. Renew our minds Lord; so that we may focus on Your holy will & prosper us in all our ways. Thank You Abba Father for loving us with an everlasting love. Amen
