1 Samuel 1:27-28
“I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord.” And he worshiped the Lord there.”
INSIGHT
-Hannah was barren & in desolation prayed for a child in the presence of Eli the priest who thought she was drunk but prayed to God for her blessing. Hannah promised to dedicate Samuel to the Lord & she did not relent but accomplished her promise & the Lord made him priest. Praying for children & dedicating them to God was an essential obligation to ensure continued service to God & to the society; as it is today. Priests often offered unspotted sacrifices to the Lord which dictates the standard of the sacrifices we should offer to God & most importantly; offer our bodies as pleasing sacrifices to God.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus You are the King of kings & Lord of lords, the great I Am & the great High priest, received all our prayers, petitions & thanksgiving that we offer to You. We thank You for the gift of children Lord & dedicate all our children unto You that You may guide them in their lives & families. We pray for all those who have been unable to bear children & all the unborn that You bless them for with You nothing is impossible. We pray for all the sick children; those suffering from cerebral palsy, bronchitis, drug addiction & many other diseases, that You may heal & deliver them Jesus; for by Your stripes they are healed. We pray for all the street children & all those the devil has placed a claim of failure, depression & premature death, that You may deliver them all Jesus. Have mercy Lord on all the school going children that You may prosper them even as they start working & have their own families. Remember also Father those who are unemployed, struggling & seeking better work & business opportunities, hear all our prayers for Your love & mercy endures forever. Cover us all Jesus with Your precious blood we dedicate our lives & families unto You; that You bless us & prosper us in all things & live in peace for many generations to come. All glory & praise belongs to You Jesus now & forever. Amen
