Luke 3:12-14
Then tax collectors also came to be baptized, and said to him, “Teacher, what shall we do?” And he said to them, “Collect no more than what is appointed for you.” Likewise the soldiers asked him, saying, “And what shall we do?” So he said to them, “Do not intimidate anyone or accuse falsely, and be content with your wages.”
INSIGHT
-John the Baptist was baptising & teaching the people at river Jordan.
-Tax collectors were cautioned not to collect more than what was rightfully theirs.
-Soldiers were urged not to intimidate, accuse falsely & to be content with their wages.
-Authorities are therefore urged to do good always & to shun from corrupt dealings.
PRAYER
Abba Father, You created heaven & earth, and all that exists belongs to You. Forgive me of all corruption in my heart, mind & body. Let me be content with my wages, do good always & to seek ye first Your kingdom. Lead me with Your eye always; Lord. Amen.
