THEME: MOUNTAIN
Genesis 22:14-17
“And Abraham called the name of the place, The- LORD -Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the LORD it shall be provided.” Then the Angel of the LORD called to Abraham a second time out of heaven, and said: “By Myself I have sworn, says the LORD, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son — blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.”
INSIGHT
-Mountain in Hebrew is written as Har & it means a large landform that stretches above the surrounding land in a specific area, usually steeper than a hill. According to geological studies; mountains are form through tectonic forces or volcanism. The three main types of mountains are; volcanic, fold & block.
-Abraham was faithful to God & willing to sacrifice his son Isaac after waiting for 100 years. This was the highest form of sacrifice Abraham could offer due to the love he had for Isaac his only son born to Sarah. God instructed Abraham to go to the mount Moriah where David later build the temple, to make the sacrifice. This mountain is commonly known today as the temple mount. The sacrifice was a picture of God offering His only Son Jesus at the mountain called Calvary, Golgotha or place of skull for the sake of all mankind. The promise that Abraham received was sealed by circumcision which Christ upgraded to circumcision of our heart. By the power of the blood of Jesus we have faith that we are partakers of His promises, blessings & take possession of the gates of our enemies.
PRAYER
You are Holy Lord & mighty above above all creation. Father You have sworn by Yourself that the word that comes out of Your mouth in righteousness shall not return. Remember Your covenant Lord that You bless us, multiply us & our descendants that we may also possess the gates of our enemies. We thank You for dying on the cross for us Father; that we may have victory over all sicknesses & obstacles that come our way. Just like Abraham called the name of the place; the Lord will provide, we know Jehovah Jireh that You will provide for all our needs by faith. Amen
