2 Chronicles 13:4-5
Then Abijah stood on Mount Zemaraim, which is in the mountains of Ephraim, and said, “Hear me, Jeroboam and all Israel: Should you not know that the Lord God of Israel gave the dominion over Israel to David forever, to him and his sons, by a covenant of salt?
INSIGHT
-Abijah king of Judah told Jeroboam & all Israel that God had made a covenant of salt with David & his sons to rule over Israel forever. David was the first king in the lineage of Christ.
-In Levit 2:13, And every offering of your grain offering you shall season with salt; you shall not allow the salt of the covenant of your God to be lacking from your grain offering. With all your offerings you shall offer salt. The offering of the first fruit in form of grain was ordered to be seasoned with salt. In Col 1:18, He is the head of the body, the church, the beginning, the first born from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
PRAYER
Jesus our King, You became a living sacrifice for our sins as the first born & King in all glory. Season us with salt to be the light to the world through Your power & authority. Amen
