THEME: AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST
2 Corinthians 5:19-20 NKJV
“that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.”
INSIGHT
–In Greek, an ambassador is written as presbuteros which means a representative, elder, honorable or high-ranking person. An ambassador does not speak to please his audience, but the king who sent him. An ambassador does not act or speak on his own authority, opinion or demand, but he/she simply says what he has been commissioned to say. An ambassador is more than a messenger, he is also a representative, and the honor and reputation of his country are in his hands. As an ambassador, Paul makes a simple, strong, direct plea, to the church in Corinth that they need to be reconciled to God. Believers are called Christs’ ambassadors who speak on behalf of Jesus in witness to the work of His saving grace as the salt and the light of the world. It is evident then that we are called to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ who is actively reconciling the world to Himself.
PRAYER
This is the day that You have made dear Lord Jesus, we rejoice and are glad in it. We give thanks to You Lord and honor You for only You deserve it. In You we live, we move and have our being. Thank You for loving us Abba Father that You sent Your only begotten Son, to become the atonement of our sins, and when we were far from the commonwealth of Israel, You brought us near by Your grace. We thank You and give You praise. May You forgive us for the times that we have misrepresented You dear Jesus in our words and deeds and wash us with Your precious blood. May You Holy Spirit anoint us afresh and make us more zealous in our walk of faith and work of ministry. May You impart us with Your gifts and fruits and make us passionate in our fellowship with You and one another. May You touch every soul and draw all men to Yourself dear Lord Jesus that each one may believe and trust in You. May You release Your salvation power unto all men and use us for the glory and honor of Your name. Amen
