Luke 2:1-4
And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David,
INSIGHT
-The census was important at the appointed time that the Messiah would be born in a safe place, Bethlehem the city of David. Joseph had to be obedient & supportive as a father to preserve the body of Jesus. Bethlehem means the house of bread & Jesus is the bread of life (John 6:48).
PRAYER
May You be born in our hearts as we are one body in You; Jesus. Give us this day our daily bread & forgive us our trespasses. Your words are Spirit & life, may we always believe in You.
We glorify You & give You thanks. Amen
