THEME: VICTORY

1 John 5:3-5

For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

INSIGHT
-Our Faith in Christ is the source of victory, the spiritual armour by which we overcome temptations. By Faith we cleave to Christ Who sanctifies & purifies our hearts from those sensual lusts in the world which sway us away from His laws. It is by the indwelling Spirit of grace which is greater than the deceiver who dwells in the world that we are able to flee from him & he from us. The Holy Spirit grants us the victory that Christ obtained for us all so that our words & deeds may reflect His true nature.

PRAYER
Oh Divine Master by Whom is all victory & grace; have mercy on us. Give us firmer faith that it may act as light in our hearts to cast out all darkness. Stay in us Father for we are weak & weary; & without You we always fall. In Your word we find truth; help us to follow Your will. Amen
