Theme: SHARING
John 6:5-9
Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do. Philip answered Him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little.” One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him, “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?”
INSIGHT
-Jesus feeds 5000 people.
-Phillip looked at the monetary value of bread & was not willing to share.
-Let’s emulate the lad & Andrew Simon Peter’s brother who were willing to share the little they had.
-Let us also trust in Jesus who with the little that you are willing & able to share that He may perform a multiplicity miracle in our lives & have left overs.
-During this time of lent let us remember others who don’t have basic needs as we deny ourself meat on Fridays & share with them.
PRAYER
Father I come to you in humility asking for forgiveness. Guide me in fasting & prayer in my heart so that I may be kind to others who don’t have & in doing Your Holy will. Multiply my skills, talents & work of my hands as I share what I have in Faith like Andrew. Amen.
