Song of Solomon 8:6-7
‘Set me as a seal upon your heart, As a seal upon your arm; For love is as strong as death, Jealousy as cruel as the grave; Its flames are flames of fire, A most vehement flame. Many waters cannot quench love, Nor can the floods drown it. If a man would give for love All the wealth of his house, It would be utterly despised.’
INSIGHT
-King Solomon narrates to The Shulamite her beloved.
-He asks her to love him wholeheartedly, until death separates them.
-Jealousy, the opposite of love is cruel & results to quarrelling, war & finally death.
-True love cannot be compared to any material possession on earth.
-As we approach the valentines day, extend love to someone. (spouse, family member, friend, charity).
PRAYER
Lord God, give me the fruit of love so that I can love with a pure heart. Give me the grace & wisdom to flee from any form jealousy & cruelty with those i relate with. As Your love is impartial let me love others as so. Amen.
