LOVE OF CHRIST LOVE OF CHRIST
Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” INSIGHT -The love... LOVE OF CHRIST

Romans 5:8

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

INSIGHT

-The love of Christ is rich and free fixed on His own eternity. Christ’s love for us is eternal and infinite. The love of Christ is evidenced by the fact of His death and resurrection; the love of God is evidenced by the love of Christ. He demonstrated His sacrificial love for us when He offered Himself on the cross for the sins of the world. Sacrificial love is not self seeking as Paul denotes in 1 Corinthians 13:5. Since Jesus died once He will not die again but has conquered all and has obtained victory on the cross. We have victory in Him as He took the keys of hades and death from hell and tasted hell for our sake, and have given us the gift of eternal life. We therefore rejoice in Him for nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.

PRAYER

We worship You Jesus for You are good and Your love endures forever. We worship You with gladness and come before You with joyful songs. We acknowledge that You are our Lord and God and glorify You for Your might and splendour. Only You created us, and we belong to You. Thank You for loving us Jesus. We are Your people, the sheep of Your pasture. We enter Your gates with thanksgiving in our hearts. We enter Your courts with praise. We rejoice for this beautiful day that You have made and give thanks and praise Your mighty name. We rejoice in You for bringing us to the end of this month in perfect peace. May Your peace that surpasses all understanding dwell in our hearts and minds always. Thank You Jesus for Your sacrificial love of the cross for the sake of our salvation. Thank You for taking away our sins and the sins of the entire world. Thank You for delivering us from eternal condemnation and giving us everlasting life. May all Your people receive Your gift of salvation we humbly implore You. Renew our strength and direct our steps we humbly ask You. The righteous person may have many troubles, but You Jesus deliver us from them all, thank You for loving us. Break every chain in our lives, families, schools, nation and all the nations of the world. Thank You for the victory that we have obtained in You as co-heirs with You. Thank You for Your grace and merciful love upon us. Thank You for loving us Jesus Christ. Amen

1 John 4:7-11

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”

INSIGHT

-God is the source and the definition of love. Love is the true expression of who God is. God made love a reality in our lives by sending His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to be the propitiation of our sins. Through this sacrifice we know love and are called to also love one another. Christ continues to show us love through His life-giving presence among us. He has also given us His Holy Spirit to dwell in us. Christ’s love for us is unearned, undeserved and utterly free, given through His mercy and grace. We do not deserve it. Freely we have received, let us freely give. We truly know the love of God that overflows in our hearts, we should keep it flowing to others. We are called to love one another if we are born of God and know God; for God is love. How then can we possibly love God while we hate God’s beloved? If we do not love one another including our enemies and those who are suffering among us, we do not know God and we break His commandments which was summarized into the law of love. If we do not love we do not know God and we are not born of Him. If we know that Jesus loves us, let us love our brothers and sisters too. God commands us to love one another as He has loved us, let us obey Him and do according to His will.

PRAYER

Your nature and image is love God, thank You for loving us. Thank You for creating us in Your own image and likeness. Thank You for loving us and giving us Your Holy Spirit to train us how to love. Let all the glory come back to You in our churches, government, schools, homes, nation and all the nations of the world. May Your purpose prevail in our lives dear Jesus. Our lives belong to You. 1 John 3:1-3

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.”

INSIGHT

-God has lavished great love upon us and has made us His children. His marvelous love upon us endures forever and we are called to give thanks to Him always. He has not given us the spirit of bondage to fear but has give us the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out Abba Father. The Spirit Himself bears with our spirit that we are children of God. If we are children we are heirs and joint heirs with Christ. If indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together (Romans 8:15-17). If we have hope of eternal life with Christ let us work out our salvation with fear and trembling for His grace is sufficient for us.

Ephesians 5:1-4

“Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.”

INSIGHT

-Christ has lavished His love upon us and calls us to walk in the way of love. To be holy because God is Holy. To love God with all our hearts, with all our minds, with our our souls and with all our might. Jesus tells us in John 14:15, “If you love me, keep my commands”. We know that His commandments are not burdensome for God’s grace has been poured into our hearts. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 reveals that, “For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.” As children of God, we should not then live for ourselves but for Jesus Christ who offered Himself as a ransom for all people. To put away from us greed, sexual immorality, foolish talk, coarse jesting and all kind of impurity, and be renewed in the mind that we may realize His good, pleasing and perfect will.

PRAYER

Thank You Jesus for Your mercy and love upon our lives, we praise Your name each day. Thank You for Your word Jesus and for feeding us spiritually. Thank You for speaking Your heart into our hearts that we may realize Your good, pleasing and perfect will. May the light of Your word become in our hearts and minds, the firmament that shines from everlasting to everlasting. Deliver us, our family members, friends, leaders, nation and entire nation from all forms of impurity, sexual immorality, greed, corruption, coarse jesting and foolish talk and everything that displeases You Jesus. Forgive us for the many times we have gone against Your holy will we humbly implore You and cover us with Your precious blood Jesus. We cast all our burdens and cares unto You, for You care for us. Your burden is light and Your yoke is easy, thank You for loving us Jesus. Grant us the grace dear Master to do Your will always. Dwell with us and in us that we may die to self and never compromise, but follow You wholeheartedly. Fill our hearts with Your love that we may love You with all our hearts, minds, souls and strength as You have commanded us. Give us the grace to love our neighbors as ourselves dear Jesus. Thank You for loving us first. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forevermore. Amen

Luke‬ ‭10:25-37‬ ‭

“And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” He said to him, “What is written in the law? What is your reading of it? ” So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’ ” And He said to him, “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.” But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” Then Jesus answered and said: “A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.’ So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?” And he said, “He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.””

INSIGHT

-The parable of the good Samaritan demonstrates the law of love, that each one is called to love the LORD our God with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our strength and with all our mind; and to love our neighbors as ourselves. From the parable we also see that both Jesus and the lawyer connect certain concepts, faith in Christ, keeping the commandments, character development through our walk with and in God, and our focus on Jesus as we follow Him. Since Jesus has loved us with an everlasting kind of love, He calls us to spread His love to one another; like the good Samaritan.

SUMMARY

God is the true definition of love, for God is love. His nature and image is built on love, and as such He created us. He existed at the beginning of love and with be present forever, for His love endures forever. We have firm faith in Him therefore, knowing that nothing in heaven or on earth can separate us from His love. Christ has shown us sacrificial love through His death on the cross for the sins of the world. He has also given us lavish love when we did not deserve anything, He adopted us as His children. It is in His nature that He has given us great love that radiates through us to one another, that we may continue in brotherly love (Hebrews 13:1). The parable of the good Samaritan demonstrates the law of love, as Christ has loved us graciously and given us the grace to love Him with all our hearts, minds, souls and strength, by keeping His word, and to love one another as ourselves. The parable challenged the lawyer and teaches us that we should love our neighbors as ourselves by helping one another at their time of need, which is a display of the love of God. I John 3:17-18 reveals that, “But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.” As Christ loves us with immense and immeasurable love, let us then love our neighbors as ourselves, giving preference to one another.
