Isaiah 22:22 The key of the house of David I will lay on his shoulder; So he shall open, and no one shall shut; And he shall shut, and no one shall open.
INSIGHT -In Hebrew key is written as maphteach & it means convocation, spanner, type, percussor, button, index, shaker -God replaced Shebna the governor of Hezekiah’s palace with Eliakim son of Hilkiah.
PRAYER: Lord our Father, we praise You & magnify Your holy Name. Thank you for we have started yet another month. Give us the key as Your sons/daughters so that whatever we shall open no one shall shut & whatever we shut no one shall open. Amen
Judges 3:25 So they waited till they were embarrassed, and still he had not opened the doors of the upper room. Therefore they took the key and opened them. And there was their master, fallen dead on the floor.
INSIGHT -Isrealites did evil in the sight of the Lord & they served Eglon king of Moab for 18 years. Later he was killed by Ehud with a double edged sword in the upper room for the deliverance of Israelites.
PRAYER: God our Father, deliver us from all evil. You have given us the key to the upper room through prayer & Your Word which is sharper than a double edged sword. Be with us always & direct us in the way we should go. Amen
Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
INSIGHT -Jesus was addressing the multitudes when He alleged that if we forgive men (others) their trespasses, our heavenly Father will forgive our trespasses & the reverse is true. -In Cor 5:21, For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. -Jesus became sin so that we become righteous in Christ, therefore when we forgive others their wrong doing & believe in Christ we access the key to eternity.
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, forgive us all our trespasses. I forgive all people who have offended me either willingly or unwillingly, those that hurt me most & are hard to forgive. Set me free Father, from the burden of unforgiveness & give me the heart of love for You & my neighbour. Amen
Revelation 1:18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.
INSIGHT -John was in the Spirit & saw Jesus in his vision. Jesus alleged that He has authority over hades/sheol & death. He became sin & died but He is life everlasting.
PRAYER: We give You thanks, O Lord Jesus, The One who was, who is & who is to come. Thank You for dying on the cross for the remission of our sins. Cleanse us from all unrighteousness & journey with us in our lives always. Amen
Matthew 16:16-19
Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
INSIGHT -Peter got a revelation from God that Jesus is Christ, son of the living God. Jesus then told Peter that upon that faith/revelation of Christ; His church will be built & the gates of hades/sheol shall not prevail. Also Jesus will give him the keys of the kingdom of heaven, whatever he binds on earth will be bound in heaven & the reverse is true. -The key is prayer & the Word of God/we should forgive others, ask for forgiveness & believe in Christ/Authority/ Jesus has power over sin & death
PRAYER: Jesus Christ, we believe that You are the Son of the living God. Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. In Your name Jesus, the gates of hades shall not prevail in our lives & whatever we bind on earth shall be bound in heaven. Amen
