John 10:27-28
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.”
INSIGHT
-God speaks to us through His word. His word is living and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). Through God’s word we are able to understand His will and walk according to His purposes. God calls us to pay attention to Him despite the challenges that we are going through with the COVID 19 pandemic and rely on His word. When king Jehoshaphat was confronted by the people of Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir, he was in fear but went into prayer. Then the Lord spoke through Jahaziel saying, “Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude for the battle is not yours, but God’s” (2 Chronicles 20:15). During this time that we are faced by this pandemic, let us not be dismayed but rely on God’s word that the battle is not ours but the Lord’s. We should always put our trust in God for He is always with us and He knows us. He has given us eternal life and no one can snatch us from His hand. Despite the worry and fear that might have cropped into our hearts, let us remain confident in Christ for He is our Rock and Sure Foundation and only in Him do we find favor. God calls us to listen to His voice and follow His will always, for He is our good Shepherd and Shield.
PRAYER
Praise You Oh Lord our God for Your mercies endures forever. Preserve us O God, for in You we put all our trust. You are our Lord and our goodness is nothing apart from You. Our hearts rejoice in You LORD. This battle of COVID 19 is not ours but it belongs to You Lord. You are our Strength and Shield, our Stronghold in Whom we put all our trust, deliver us Lord from all our fears and troubles merciful Father. We humbly ask You wipe away corona virus from the face of the earth for You are mighty and Your power endures to all generations. Cause confusion in the enemies camp and let them fight among themselves like they did during the time of king Jehoshaphat for the sake of Your elect; because the battle belongs to You Oh Lord. What the enemy is planning against us is defeated because we belong to You and no one can snatch us from Your hand Jesus. We rely on Your promises for You are our Banner and Salvation, in Whom we put all our trust. Heal all those who are sick and suffering, and refresh our lives, families, relationships, marriages, churches, businesses, economy, nation and all the nations of the world; for the battle belongs to You Oh Lord. There is no one Holy but You Lord. There is none besides You, nor is there any Rock like You our God. May Your word remain the light in our minds and the discerner of our hearts desires. Forgive us all our sins dear Jesus and cover us with Your precious blood. Shepherd us in the way we should go and grant us favor. All power and victory belongs to You Jesus, our Lord and King. In Your faithfulness show Yourself faithful to us, in Your mercy show Yourself merciful to us, in Your strength reveal Yourself mightily Holy Spirit, for only You deserve our praise. Amen
Habakkuk 2:1-3
“I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected. Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.”
INSIGHT
-God speaks to us through visions. In the first chapter of Habakkuk, we see him complain that the Lord has not answered him. Like many other prophets we see Habakkuk waiting on the Lord in prayer and separates himself to receive revelation. It is vital to note that when we wait on the Lord in prayer, He answers us from deep within our hearts and not externally as man speaks to man. Most of the time, the Holy Spirit speaks to us in a still small voice that comes from within us when we read His word, praise and pray. Habakkuk received a vision and recorded it as instructed to preserve it for posterity, so that the future generations would know of the certainty of its fulfillment, similar to Daniel 12:4. The prophecy had lasting relevance and thus had to be preserved and at the appointed time it came to pass. God would punish the Chaldean’s for their pride and idol worship, and they would come to judgment according to prophecy. It is thus important to document our dreams and visions; holding fast faith that they will come to pass according to God’s will.
PRAYER
We love You O LORD, our strength. LORD You are our Rock, Fortress and Deliverer there is none other but You. You are our God and our Strength, in Whom we put our trust. You are our Shield, Stronghold and the horn of our Salvation. We call upon You LORD, who is worthy of our praises and You will save us from our enemies. The pangs of death surround us and the floods of ungodliness make us afraid, but we rely on Your strength always. The sorrows of Sheol surround us and the snares of death confront us, but all our trust is in You Lord. In our distress we call upon Your name LORD with firm confidence that You will hear us from Your heavenly courts. Deliver us merciful Father from every kind of distress that we are faced with and reveal Yourself faithful to us. Remember with mercy Lord all whose nations who have been most affected by the corona virus including; Italy, Spain, USA and many other nations which are waiting on You for deliverance. Heal us dear Jesus from all our tribulations and deliver us from pride and all evil. We wait upon You Lord each day, we wait on You for fresh revelation, dreams and visions. Reveal to us Your hidden secrets Holy Spirit and we shall walk in wisdom. All things work for good for those who love You Lord and are called according to Your purpose, help us to accomplish our purposes here on earth merciful Father according to Your will. Amen
Genesis 37:6-9
“So he said to them, “Please hear this dream which I have dreamed: There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf.” And his brothers said to him, “Shall you indeed reign over us? Or shall you indeed have dominion over us?” So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words. Then he dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said, “Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me.”
INSIGHT
-God also speaks to us through dreams. Joseph had two consecutive dreams that came to accomplishment through two other dreams that Pharaoh the king of Egypt had. Joseph’s dreams were not received well by his brothers and father who at that time did not understand it. Joseph’s brothers hated him and sold him as a slave. God had given Joseph a special gift of interpreting dreams and while he was at the dungeon in Egypt, he interpreted the chief baker and butlers dreams accurately, but remained forgotten. Two years later when Pharaoh had two dreams that no one else could interpret, the power of God was revealed through Joseph and his interpretation was accepted as true. Joseph’s dream also came to pass as he became the governor of Egypt and he saved many including his family from starvation. Like Pharaoh acknowledged that the God of Joseph is the only one true God. We read in Daniel 12:3 that, those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever. As disciples of Christ, we are called to bring many to Him through the gifts that He has bestowed unto us.
PRAYER
God You are our Refuge and Strength, our very present Help in times of need, we praise You and glorify Your holy name. We will not fear even though the earth be removed and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea, all our hope is in You Jehovah. Thank You Lord for You are always with us, thank You God for You are our Refuge and Strength. Help us to be still so that we may know that You are God and worthy to be exalted among all the nations of the earth. Deliver us merciful Father from jealousy, hatred, malice, unforgiveness and forgive us all sins. Cover us with Your precious blood Jesus Christ and make us Your children. Write our names in the Lambs book of life merciful Father and fill us with Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for making us Yours and for giving us the precious gift of salvation. Guide us and protect us always Holy Spirit, and fill us with Your gifts and fruit. Thank You Holy Spirit for speaking to us through dreams. We humbly ask that You grant us the wisdom to interpret these dreams and to realize their importance in our lives and the lives of others. Only You are Holy, only You are God, may Your name be praised always Jesus. Like You elevated Joseph from one glory to the next, prosper us in every aspect of our lives for the glory of You name. Like Pharaoh came to know that You are the only one true God worthy to be praised, use us Jesus to bring many to You for the glory of Your name. May Your revival reach each and every Kenyan together with our families living abroad for the glory of Your name. Like You provided a solution in Egypt when there a global crisis of famine, increase our wisdom Holy Spirit so that we may offer world wide solutions to tackle the corona virus pandemic and be economically empowered even during these challenging times; for the glory of Your name. Only You are Holy, only You are God, may Your name be praised always Jesus. Amen
Exodus 33:9-11
“And it came to pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses. All the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the tabernacle door, and all the people rose and worshiped, each man in his tent door. So the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.”
INSIGHT
-God spoke to Moses face to face as a man speaks to his friend. We also read that Moses was the meekest man on earth and he obtained favor before the Lord. He saw a burning bush when he was being called and the Lord instructed him to remove his sandals for the place he was standing was holy ground. He also encountered God when he went up mount Sinai to receive the Ten Commandments and his face glittered with the glory of God. God reminds us that when we seek Him; we will find Him, when we search Him with all our hearts (Jeremiah 11:13). God also spoke to Samuel when Eli was old. In the New Testament, Jesus Christ came into the world to mend the relationship between God and man through redemption from sin. Jesus was physically present to many who interacted with Him and continues to show Himself through many encounters that we experience in our lives. Jesus is the express image of the Father and when we have seen Him, we have seen the Father. “Jesus said, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works” (John 14:9-10). When we come to God with the expectation to hear from Him, He manifests Himself to us and cements our personal relationship with Him. Like God openly spoke to Moses in the Old Testament, He speaks to us in a unique way when we call to Him and reveals Himself to us as He pleases. The Holy Spirit dwells in us always and speaks to us especially when our hearts are expectant to hear from Him.
PRAYER
Lord You are the great I AM, our great High Priest and our Sure Foundation, we praise You and glorify Your holy name. Thank You for this far that You brought us, we give You all the glory and praise. Remember Lord all those who are sick and suffering that You may heal them for by Your stripes we were healed. Be with all the medical practitioners who are dealing with corona virus, that You may protect them and shield them from harm. Remember also all our leaders that You may grant them the wisdom to handle this situation in a unique way, according to Your will. May You settle the hearts of those who have lost hope and all those who have lost their loved ones with Your perfect peace. Everlasting Father we also pray that You guide us, protect and provide for each one of us all over the world and sustain us in Your grace. By Your mercies Lord restore all broken marriages for whatever You have brought together no man can separate. Our hearts yearn for You ever day Lord our God, be glorified now and forever. We need You Lord at every moment of our lives, speak to us like You spoke to Moses Your servant and show us Your salvation. Thank You Holy Spirit for the good plans You have for us, plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future. All glory and blessings belong to You now and forever. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forever more. Amen
Luke 1:26-33
“Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”
INSIGHT
-Angel Gabriel visited Mary and revealed to her that she would bear a Son Jesus; Who would reign from everlasting to everlasting. God also revealed His mission to save mankind from sin causing death through His beloved Son Jesus Christ. During this season of Easter, we appreciate the love that the Father has for us; that He gave us His only begotten Son; that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. The salvation plan of God worked perfectly for all mankind because we have been redeemed and liberated from sin and He gives us access to eternal life through this gift of salvation. Like Mary, God also speaks to us through angels and reveals His perfect will to us. Let us remember to love God and our neighbors as ourselves, and to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and will continue to reveal His purpose to us in diverse ways.
SUMMARY
God calls us to seek Him and we will find Him, when we seek Him will all our hearts. God speaks to us through dreams, visions, angelic visitations, His word, prophets, priests and other servants, and the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. Many of such examples are present in the Bible including and not limited to; Moses who spoke to God face to face, Joseph who received dreams and had the gift of interpreting dreams, Habakkuk who was instructed to document his vision for posterity, Samuel who received visions from God when he was called in three instances, Mary and Zachariah who received angelic visitations, Abraham was also visited by three angels before they destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, prophets like Elijah who revealed God’s plan for the people, Jesus who came to save mankind from eternal condemnation through His death and resurrection, and many other instances. God is faithful and reveals His intentions to us; His children. Although it is a unique experience to hear from God, it is important to check the message against His word just in case it does not originate from God. Whatever God speaks must be in line with His word that’s why we have the gift of discernment, otherwise false prophecy might apply. Sometimes we become dull of hearing when God speaks in one way or in another, yet we do not perceive it. In a dream, vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon us, while slumbering on our beds. Then He opens our ears, and seals our instructions. In order to turn us from our deeds and conceal pride from us (Job 33:14-17). Each one of us is unique to God and He speaks to us in diverse ways; which we understand best. Since nothing can separate us from the love of God, we should always be confident because we belong to Him and no one can snatch us from His hand. God calls us to draw near to Him and He will draw near to us as we read His word, pray and praise Him, listening to Biblical messages and turn from our evil ways, and through this He speaks to us; for the furtherance of His kingdom.
PRAYER
Our hearts exult You and rejoice in You LORD, our King of kings and Lord of lords. We rejoice in Your salvation Jesus for You died and resurrected for the sake of all mankind. Thank You Father for sending Your Son Jesus to save us. Thank You for giving us the precious gift of salvation that yields eternal life. Make known Yourself unto all who do not know You Jesus, so that they may believe and be saved. No one is holy but You Lord, there is none besides You Jesus, have Your way in us. During this season of Easter, help us to get closer to You everyday and to remain in You as You are in us. May this Easter season bring fresh graces to us, our families, nation and all over the world and help us Holy Spirit to always hear from You even when we have become dull of hearing. May Your will be done always Lord. Reveal Yourself to us and guide our steps everyday. You have reminded us Lord to partake of the Holy communion, that brings healing and eternal life, guide us in all things Jesus. You are the Rock upon which we stand Jesus, our Lord and Savior, save us from corona virus and all other infirmities that confront us. Help us to realize that we have been crucified with You Christ and it is no longer us who live, but You who lives in us. Forgive us all our sins and help us to lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, so that we may run with endurance the race that You have set before us, looking unto You Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before You; endured the cross, despising the shame and You are seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Our Father who at in heaven; hallowed be Your name; Your Kingdom come; Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptations but deliver us from evil; for thine is the Kingdom the power and the glory; forever & ever. Amen
