2 Kings 20:5-6
“Return and tell Hezekiah the leader of My people, ‘Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the LORD. And I will add to your days fifteen years. I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for My own sake, and for the sake of My servant David.”
INSIGHT
-Healing in Hebrew is written as rapha which means to cure, purify or restore. Healing is a gift of Holy Spirit which restores us physically, emotionally, psychologically & mentally.
-King Hezekiah is a perfect example of the healing power of God & restoration of life. The king had a boil on his body & was lying about to die as confirmed by prophet Isaiah. He prayed to God & cried for mercy; with the hope of getting healed; & the Lord healed him when he administered figs on the wound, & added to his life fifteen more years. God gives His gifts to the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues (1 Cor 12:28). By doing this; He enables us to function effectively in unity of believers through His body for the glory of His name.
PRAYER
We thank You Father for the gift of wholeness of body & spirit through Your precious blood. We humbly ask You to pour Your blood into our hearts, minds & our entire bodies that we may be purified & restored. There are many among us who are sick in hospitals & at home, have mercy on them all & heal them Jehovah Rapha just like You healed king Hezekiah Your servant. Give us the gift of healing Holy Spirit that we may make a difference on the earth for the glory of Your name. Increase our faith Lord so that we may forever believe in You & Your healing power. We pray this believing & trusting in Jesus might name. Amen

INSIGHT
-God is worthy of all honor & adoration; & we are reminded to praise Him always with all our might & all that is within us. To give thanks to Him for He is the only One Who deserves worship & praise; & for all He has done & continues to do in our lives, families & society. Through His tender mercies & loving kindness; God forgives us all our iniquities & heals our wounds. The Holy Spirit our Helper witnesses Christ here on earth & takes away our history of sin, depression, abuse, sickness, fear; & gives us love, joy, peace, patience, salvation, humility, long suffering & kindness in the newness of life.
PRAYER
We give You all the thanks & praise Almighty Father for Your everlasting mercy & love upon our lives, families & nation. Receive all the glory & honor Jehovah. We humbly implore You Holy Spirit; to heal us from sin, depression, anxiety, abuse, sickness, fear & grant us Your love, joy, peace, patience, salvation, humility, self-control & kindness in the newness of life. We seek You with all our hearts & tell You of Your wonderful deeds in all the earth from everlasting to everlasting. Amen

“who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness by whose stripes you were healed.”
INSIGHT
-Jesus was wounded, humiliated & bruised for the redemption of the world from sin that we may remain liberated with Him (Isaiah 53:5). On several occasions; Jesus demonstrated His healing power to us through miracles that we may have faith in Him. He healed the paralytic by first forgiving his sins; when he demonstrated great faith (Mk 2:5). Jesus also healed Mary Magdalene from spiritual torment as she was possessed by seven demons. He forgave her sins & thereafter she became a witness of His death & resurrection. Jesus also healed the servant of a centurion who was not a Jew but exhibited great faith not even seen in Israel (Mat 8:10). We note that in some instances; Jesus forgave sins & healed the sick especially those who demonstrated faith in Him. By His stripes we received healing from sins & diseases that we may possess His graces, believe in Him & live in peace.
PRAYER
Lord You are our rock, fortress & deliverer; we put all our trust in You. You are our shield & the horn of our salvation, we love You. We cast all our burdens, sicknesses, weaknesses, petitions, trials & tribulations unto You Jesus; for by Your stripes we were healed. By faith we receive physical, spiritual & psychological healing for ourselves & for all those who are sick Lord King of glory. Have mercy on us & cleanse us from all unrighteousness Lord. You have always taken good care of us & delivered us from the snares of the evil one Father, we praise Your holy name now & forever. Amen
John 9:1-3
“As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.”
INSIGHT
-The disciples question posed to Jesus reveal to us that there are calamities, deformities or diseases that are caused by personal sins, sins of the parents or occur naturally according to Gods will. King David also notes in Psalm 38:3, that there was no health in his bones because of sin. It is key therefore to refrain from discriminating those who have been afflicted in the societies we live in; but show mercy & support them. Further, those faced by such calamities should submit to God our Healer; Who delivers us from all challenges. Jesus tells us that the merciful will obtain mercy & calls us to forgive & we will be forgiven. It is therefore necessary to forgive those who offend us & constantly ask for Gods’ mercy so that we may live in peace, good health & divine providence for our own sake & for the sake of our families.
PRAYER
In gladness we proclaim Your mighty name O Lord Most High & rejoice for Your loving kindness. Look with pity upon all those who are faced by disability & disease Father, that You may heal them for the glory of a Your name. Preserve & protect us; & our descendants Father from any imminent calamities that may come to affect us. Deliver us from unforgiveness Jesus; that we may have mercy on all those who offend us just like You have always granted us. Bless us Oh Lord & direct us in all things for Your love for us endures forever. Now may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ & the love of God, & the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now & forever more. Amen
Luke 9:1-2
“Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.”
INSIGHT
-Christ sent His disciples & calls us to be witnesses unto Him by the power & authority given to us over all demons, to cure diseases & to preach the gospel. Just like in court where a witness produces evidence to justify their statements, we as witnesses of Christ have to display words & actions full of truth & justice for the good of ourselves & others.
SUMMARY

-King Hezekiah is a perfect example of Gods’ healing power & restoration of life. He prayed & cried to God for mercy & God healed him; & blessed him with fifteen more years full of peace (2 Kings 20:5-6). Jesus also healed the paralytic by forgiving his sins (Mk 2:5). He healed the centurion’s servant when his master portrayed great faith in Jesus not even seen in Israel (Mat 8:10). Mary Magdalene who was demon possessed was forgiven & delivered from her oppression & later witnessed Christs’ death & resurrection. Most of these people who were healed demonstrated faith in Jesus & in some healing instances Jesus said “You faith has made you well” (Mk 5:34). When Jesus healed the man born with blindness; He exposed more causes of diseases & disabilities to us. These are; personal sins, sins of the parents or to reveal His power to the world (Jn 9:1-3). It is therefore necessary to constantly ask for Gods’ mercy & forgiveness from our sins, those of our families & the whole world; so that we may receive healing & have life in abundance. We should also remember to forgive those who offend us for the merciful always obtain Gods’ mercy. After Christs’ death & resurrection; He gave us His body & blood that we may receive healing & life everlasting when we partake of Him (Jn 6:53-58). He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities & bore our sins so that we may live in righteousness & peace; for by His stripes we are healed (Isa 53:5; & 1 Pet 2:24). When we believe in Gods’ word, He takes away our history of sin, depression, abuse, sickness, fear; & gives us love, joy, peace, patience, salvation, humility, long suffering & kindness in the newness of life. It is His will that we pray without ceasing, give thanks & rejoice in Him always for God is our Creator & has bestowed unto us His unfailing love (1 The 5:16-18).
PRAYER
Lord our Father, You have been faithful to us & have never failed us, we thank You & praise You. Have mercy on all those who are sick in hospitals & at home, heal all those who are suffering from disability, deliver all those who have been afflicted spiritually by the evil one, hear the cry of all those who have lost their loved ones, answer all our petitions & heal all our diseases for by Your stripes we are healed Lord King of glory. Forgive us all our sins Lord, sins of our forefathers & those of the whole world. You have assigned us to proclaim the gospel, cast out demons & heal the sick by Your authority, lead us according to Your will Father. Your love for us endures forever, we thanks You & glorify You. Amen
