THEME: SPIRITUAL AMMUNITION

Acts 16:25-26 NKJV

But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.”

INSIGHT

Paul and Silas during their time in trouble they took refuge in the Lord. They trusted in God and His mighty power. They prayed, sang and praised God at midnight and He delivered them from all their chains and the prison gates were opened.

SUMMARY

Ammunition in Hebrew comes from the word tach-mo-shet which means physical projectiles and their necessary propellants. Spiritual ammunition means spiritual weaponry that the Lord has provided for us to remain safe from harm. Firstly we are called to put on the whole armor of God that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil, and the principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this age and spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:10-12). These spiritual weapons are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when our obedience is fulfilled (2 Corinthians 10:4-6). Joshua the high priest was standing before the Angel of the Lord and satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. The Lord rebuked satan and clothed Joshua with a rich robe removing his filthy garment. The Lord removed his iniquity and put a clean turban on his head (Zechariah 3:1-5). Job was a blameless and upright man who feared God and shun evil. The Lord put a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side, blessed the work of his hands, and increased his possessions in the land (Job 1:8-10).
