Deuteronomy 28:1-2 NKJV
“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God:”
INSIGHT
–The book of Deuteronomy 28 is mainly known for the instructions of a blessing, and non fulfilment delivers a curse. The Lord calls us to obey not only some commandments and instructions but all. God therefore sets us up high above all the nations, make us at the top and not at the bottom, ensure that we are the first and not the last, establish us as the head and not the tail etc.
PRAYER
Abba Father we exalt Your name and worship You. We humbly ask You to guide us in Your ways and precepts. May You bless us in the city and in the country. May You bless the fruit of our body, the produce of the ground, the increase of our herds, the increase of our cattle and the offspring of our flocks. May You bless our basket and kneading bowl. May You bless us when we come in and go out. May You cause our enemies who rise against us to be defeated before our faces, they shall come out against us one way and flee before us seven ways. May You bless us in the land which You are giving us. May You bless us in the city and in the country. May You grant us plenty of goods, in the fruit of our body, the increase of our livestock, and the produce of our ground, in the land of which You swore to our fathers to give us. May You open to us Your good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to us land in its season and to bless all the work of our hands. We shall lend to many nations, but borrow from none. May You make us the head and not the tail. May You make us above only and not beneath and teach us to heed all Your commandments dear Lord Jesus. Amen
