THEME: GOD WITH US

John 14:16-18 NKJV

“And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”

INSIGHT

–Jesus introduces the Holy Spirit as another Helper, or allos paraklētos in Greek which means another of the same kind. Therefore the Holy Spirit carries out the same role as Jesus Christ of comforting, guiding, and empowering believers in truth by His word as it were during His eartly ministry.

SUMMARY

The name Immanuel is translated to mean God with us (Matthew 1:23). Jesus our good Shepherd is our provider and makes us to lie down in green pastures, He guides us beside still water, He is the Restorer of our soul, He leads us in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake, He protects us and comforts with His rod and staff when we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, He prepares a table before us in the presence of our enemies, He anoints our head with oil, He supplies His goodness and mercy always for us and assures us of an eternal dwelling place in His house (Psalms 23:1-6). The Lord has commanded us to be contented with what we have for He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). The Lord has commanded us to be strong and of good courage, and not to be afraid, for He will be with us wherever we go (Joshua 1:9). The Lord requires that we go to all the nations making disciples, teaching them to obey everything He has commanded us and surely He will always be with us to the very end of the age (Matthew 28:19-20).  

PRAYER

Lord Jesus You are our God and none can be likened to You. Thank You for assuring us of Your love, care, protection, provision, guidance, now and forevermore. We exalt Your name and bless You for You are good and Your mercies endures forever. Have mercy on us Lord and forgive us all our sins and iniquities. May You bless us and respond to all our prayers and hearts desires. May You deliver all those who are in prison, hospital, addicted to drugs, substance abuse, gambling, sexual immorality and vindicate the street families and set them free. By Your stripes we are healed in Your name Jesus. May You Lord provide for all our needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus. May You bless us and keep us, may You make Your face to shine upon us and be gracious to us, may You show Your countenance towards us and give us peace. Amen
