THEME: GENERATIONAL BLESSINGS

2 Chronicles 25:4 NKJV

However he did not execute their children, but did as it is written in the Law in the Book of Moses, where the Lord commanded, saying, “The fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor shall the children be put to death for their fathers; but a person shall die for his own sin.”

INSIGHT

King Amaziah initially observed the regulations of the Lord and ensured that the children of the parents who sinned were not punished for the sins of their parents, and the reverse is true. In Ezekiel 18:19-24 we find the same regulation applied that the son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself. 1 Timothy 2:5-6 reminds us that, our Lord and God, Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, gave Himself a ransom for us all, to be testified in due time. Jesus died as a substitute, taking upon himself the punishment for humanity’s sins to offer forgiveness and eternal life to those who believe. His sacrifice removes the spiritual penalty of sin, enabling believers to avoid eternal separation from God and reconciling them to him.

PRAYER

Lord You are good and Your mercies endures forever. Your mercies are new each morning and Your salvation is assured to us according to Your word, we thank You. We put all our trust in You and in Your word and seek Your precepts each day. Thank You Jesus for Your sacrifice on the cross, dying for our sins and resurrecting for our victory, may Your name be praised and exalted. Thank You for substituting our sins for righteousness through faith, and turning generational curses to blessings, in Jesus name. Our Father who art in heaven; hallowed be Your name; Your Kingdom come; Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptations but deliver us from evil; for thine is the Kingdom the power and the glory; forever and ever. Amen
