THEME: AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST

Proverbs 13:17 NKJV

A wicked messenger falls into trouble, But a faithful ambassador brings health.”

INSIGHT

The Psalmist demystifies the value of a trustworthy ambassador who delivers accurate and edifying information. The result is peace, reconciliation and problem resolution. This person acts with integrity and his actions foster trust, leading to positive effects such as healing and restoration within the community or between individuals. In contrast, a wicked envoy has questionable credentials of unreliability, dishonesty, and corruption in delivering his messages. Such a person may cause havoc, harm, create confusion, or bring trouble upon themselves and others. Luke 6:45 reminds us that, “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” We are thus called to uphold Christlike qualities including honesty, integrity and reliability, which not only benefit the messenger but also the recipient of the message for the glory of God’s name.

PRAYER

We praise You O Lord our God with all our hearts and tell of all Your marvelous works. We are glad and rejoice in You. We sing praises to Your name, our Lord and God Most High and glorify Your name forever. You are great and powerful Lord and our enemies perish at Your presence. You have maintained our right and cause, You who is seated on the throne judging in righteousness. May You cleanse our hearts from all evil for they are deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. May You form our hearts to be more like Yours dear Lord Jesus. May You train our mouths to be like Yours and our speech to emulate Your goodness. We honor You and give You praise, and it is in Jesus mighty name we pray. Amen
