Proverbs 13:22 NKJV

“A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, But the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.”

INSIGHT

-A man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children is a widely used phrase that outlines the value of leaving a worthwhile legacy or endowment to his family. Abraham left all he had to Isaac (Genesis 25:5). He was diligent in preparing a successor and instituting long-lasting values that brought blessing to his enterprise. Isaac turned out to be successful, and he prospered (Genesis 26:12). His children Jacob and Esau also became successful and wealthy (Genesis 33:11). A man therefore does good with his estate that guarantees his generations financial freedom by the grace of God, and takes the surest course to settle it upon his posterity for many generations. On the other hand, the one who engages in wasteful living like the prodigal son; sooner or later looses his inheritance (Luke 15:11-14). Further, if he acquires wealth acquired in a dishonest way, it dwindles away (Proverbs 13:11) and flies off like an eagle (Proverbs 23:5). Let us then ask the Lord for wisdom to enable us to use our financial resources prudently even as we give our tithes, invest, save and spend wisely. Also, ask the Lord to protect and preserve our resources as He covered Job with His hedge of fire and blessed the work of his hands (Job 1:10).

PRAYER

Praise the Lord oh my soul. I praise You Lord all my life and sing praise to my God as long as I live. Thank You dear Lord Jesus for this far that You have brought us and the far that You are taking us. We will not put our trust in wealth and finances, princes and human beings who cannot save but all our hope and trust is in You dear Lord Jesus our loving Savior. May Your favor Lord our God rest upon us and establish the work of our hands for us, yes Lord establish the work of our hands. May You grant us wisdom, peace and prosperity and help us to use our resources wisely. May You protect us, our families and resources from the devourer who comes to kill, steal and destroy. May You dear Lord Jesus cover us with Your precious blood and hedge of fire to keep us safe together with our loved ones. We honor You dear Lord Jesus and give You praise, and it is in Jesus mighty name we pray. Amen
