POWER OF UNITY POWER OF UNITY
Genesis 11:6 NIV “The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan... POWER OF UNITY

Genesis 11:6 NIV

“The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.”

INSIGHT

-Unity in Greek is written as henotes and in Hebrew Echad which means to have unanimity or agreement. This relates to one-ness between individuals or groups. Unity between friends, families, society and nation is key to ensure there is peace and harmony. Unity among men/women builds strong bonds and causes them to have one purpose in heart and mind. When people are united in the same purpose, nothing can hinder them from accomplishing their plans. God honors unity and whenever the disciples were of one mind and united in worship, God released His Holy Spirit upon them. Although Nimrod the mighty warrior on the earth (Genesis 10:8), led the people to build the Tower of Babel, he rebelled against the will of God and they were scattered. Nimrod is a type of rebel leader who will come to oppose the will of God and deceive many over every tribe, people, language and nation (Revelation 13:7). We have been created in uniqueness and diversity but when we speak one language and agree in accordance to the will of God, whatever we bind on earth is bound in heaven and whatever we loose on earth is loosed in heaven. Prayers of agreement also inspire a uniqueness and diversities in ideologies, tribe, political affiliations, business plans, families and society in general, are merged into one peaceful coalition guided by God, which calls for thanksgiving and praise to God.

PRAYER

Dear Almighty Father we come before Your Holy and Mighty Name exalting You for Your name is our strong tower. We thank You for Your love and mercies that are new every morning. We thank You for Your precious blood that washes our sins and makes us as white as snow. We humbly ask You to protect us from the snares of the devil and cover us with Your precious blood. Dear Lord You are our provider, our peace, our counselor, our comforter and our all in all. We worship You and praise You for You are greatly to be praised. We thank You for the unity You have given us to bind us together and work in us for You great work and pleasure both to will and to do. We submit ourselves to You in our diversities, uniqueness as we humbly ask You to bind us together with codes of love that cannot be broken. May You help us to fulfill the divine purpose You have given us for Your glory and may nothing hinder us. May You make all our plans succeed for Your great purpose. May You guide our steps and open new opportunities for us to prosper. May You bless the work of our hands and answer all our hearts desires. We pray that whatever we bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatever we loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. We praise Your name and worship You now and forever. Amen

Ephesians 5:31 NIV

“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”

INSIGHT

-It is commonly said that a happy marriage is hard work, which can be paraphrased to state that a good marriage takes the grace of God. God is the author of marriage and He takes keen interest in it. God has likened the marriage institution to the church. It takes the same kind of love that Christ has bestowed upon the church for married couples to love each other and be committed to make it work. As God formed Eve out of the body of Adam, the husband and wife are incomplete without each other. The marriage unit is indivisible in God’s eyes. Partners who divorce their spouses destroy part of themselves. God has a plan for each of our lives. There is a spouse for each one according to His great plans and none will lack a mate, for God’s mouth has given the order, and His Spirit will gather them together (Isaiah 34:16).

PRAYER

Lord we thank You, we bless Your holy name. You are our God in whom we trust. You are our Father, none can compare to You. You are Ebenezer, our God and our Help. We declare that none will lack a mate and You Holy Spirit will join two to become one. May You remember all those who are single and waiting on You, that You may unite them together with codes of love that cannot be broken. Whoever You hold together Holy Spirit, none can separate. May You bless all the marriages that You may cement them with love. May You bless all those who are divorced or separated that You may do Your will in their lives. May You remember all widows and orphans that You may respond to their hearts desires merciful Savior. May You train our hearts to love You Lord and to love our neighbors as ourselves. You are God and Savior we trust in You. You are our Amazing God, You deserve all the glory and praise and praise. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us now and forever more. Amen

2 Chronicles‬ ‭30:12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Also in Judah the hand of God was on the people to give them unity of mind to carry out what the king and his officials had ordered, following the word of the Lord.”

INSIGHT
-King Hezekiah wrote to all Israel and Judah to observe the Passover feast as they had not done it for a long time in the prescribed manner. The priests had not consecrated themselves and the people had not gathered in Jerusalem to offer an atonement for their sins. This matter pleased the king and all the people who united as one in worship. King Hezekiah exhorted them to return to their God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Israel to return to God and He will be merciful to them, and deliver them from their enemies. He called them to come into God’s sanctuary with repentance and they will be sanctified forever. James 4:8 tells us, “draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” Unity of believers brings forth fruit for whenever two or three are gathered in God’s name, He is there with them.

PRAYER
We come to You Lord with sincere repentance that You may forgive us and wash us with Your precious blood. We come to Your throne of grace with boldness that we may find mercy and grace to help us during our time of need. We unite in prayer and praise knowing that You are in us and with us Holy Spirit. We seek Your grace in our lives, families, work, businesses, society, callings and gifting, churches and in our nation. We seek Your presence Lord everyday, all the time that You may go before us and make every crooked path straight. May You level the mountains for us and break every chain that may come to hinder our progress. May You protect us from all evil, provide for our every need, sustain us with Your dew of heaven, guide us with the Light of Your word, preserve us with Your fresh anointing and cloth us with Your salvation. Only You are our God, we bless Your holy name. Only You deserve our worship. Our Father who art in heaven; hallowed be Your name; Your Kingdom come; Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptations but deliver us from evil; for thine is the Kingdom the power and the glory; forever and ever. Amen

Ephesians 4:2-3 NIV

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”

INSIGHT

-The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility and self control (Galatians 5:22-23). The Holy Spirit helps us to maintain bonds of peace and unity which is good and pleasant. Since believers have the privilege of sharing in the fruit and gifts of the Holy Spirit, we are encouraged to make every effort and be reconciled with one another. To be prompt to forgive one another just as Christ forgave us. Also, to put on love which binds us together in perfect unity (Colossians 3:12-14).

PRAYER

How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity. We humbly implore You Lord to bind us together with codes of love that cannot be broken. May You unite our families, homes, work places, nation, and other nations of the world with perfect peace. May You taken over our relationships Holy Spirit and bless us. May Your love encourage us to be gentle and humbly at heart forgiving each other like You forgave us Jesus Christ. May You cleanse us from all unrighteousness and restore unto us the joy of Your salvation. May You anoint us afresh Holy Spirit and make it possible for us to mend all the broken relationships. May You look to us with kindness and hear our prayers and answer our hearts desires. We praise You Lord and adore You now and forever. Amen

John 17:20-23 NIV

“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”

INSIGHT

-Jesus spoke of His mission and sanctification to the body of Christ. He was confident that they would continue in the evangelism mission, and prayed for those who would believe, and all future believers are included in this prayer. Also an emphasis has been made on the unity of believers, hedging on the standard of the unity between the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirt, as it is from the beginning. The unity of believers should also impact outsiders to believe in Jesus Christ and follow Him faithfully.

SUMMARY

Unity by simple definition is the state of oneness. It causes different units to be joined together in agreement. God is the perfect model of unity, having been joined together as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). God calls us to one body, one Spirit, and one hope (Ephesians 4:4). The unity in the body of Christ should therefore testify to the unity of God’s eternality, the Holy Trinity. The body of Christ should also testify to the unity of the gospel message, since we are called to one hope of salvation. King Hezekiah called all Israel and Judah to be united in worship to God the Most High as they observe the Passover feast which had not be done for sometime, and it pleased the people (2 Chronicles 30:11-12 ). Whenever a people fellowship as one, the Lord is present with them. Unity is key in every relationship. For instance, a man leaves his father and mother, and he is united to his wife and they become one flesh (Ephesians 5:31 ). Also, two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour (Ecclesiastics 4:9). Where there is such unity whatever we purpose to do cannot be hindered from us (Genesis 11:6). Jesus preached the gospel of peace to both those who are far and those who are near (Ephesians 2:17). He calls us to love one another and to forgive one another just as Christ forgave us. Where there is unity, God commands a blessings. It is therefore good and pleasant that we have bonds of love with one another and remain in perfect unity with Christ through the gift of salvation.

PRAYER

Abba Father You are our good God. You are wonderful and marvelous in wonder. You are exulted in the heavens and the earth, none can compare to You. You are Ebenezer and none can be likened to You. You are Jehovah our living God. You are our life Jehovah; thank You for the gift of life. You are our Prince of peace; thank You for the peace in our lives, marriages, relationships and nation. You are our High Priest; may You sanctify us and wash us with Your precious blood. You are our Sure Foundation upon You we stand. May You cement us with codes of love that cannot be broken. May You grant us, our family members, nation and entire world the gift of salvation. May You grant us Your favor and grace dear Jesus. You are worthy and able Lord Jesus. We love You Jesus. Thank You for loving us first. May You anoint us afresh and use us as vessels of honor for the glory and honor of Your name. Amen
