THEME: CHRIST IN ME

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

“And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

INSIGHT

-Apostle Paul was caught up in the third heaven, and a messenger of Satan sent to buffet him causing a thorn in his flesh. Paul prayed three times to the Lord and He delivered him from all his troubles. Like Paul, sometimes we are faced with trials and tribulations that occur like thorns in the flesh. It is obvious then when such things come our way, we can do nothing without Christ. David was often faced by such eventualities, and when his allies intended to stone him, he encouraged himself in the Lord (1 Samuel 30:6). We are called to encourage ourselves in the Lord when we are weak and undergoing challenges, until Christ is formed in us. Also, to encourage those who are discouraged and depressed so that Christ may form part of their lives; as He wills. Our confidence is in Christ for when we are weak, then we are strong for He dwells in us. His grace is sufficient for us, for we are more than conquerors in Him. He is our only hope when we are weak, desolate and discouraged. Our Savior and Deliverer at the most vulnerable moments. Our Light when things do not go the way we expect them. Our God in Whom we put our trust.

PRAYER

The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil. My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in Your house Lord; forever. According to Your sovereign plan Lord; draw the people of Israel back to You. They are Your chosen people, remember them, bless them and always grant them peace according to Your promise. Turn their hearts to You and grant them the gift of salvation for You are the Sovereign Lord. Your grace is sufficient for us, for Your strength is made perfect in our weakness, we thank You for loving us and choosing us. Thank You Holy Spirit for dwelling in us, and when we are weak; then we are strong for You are always with us. Amen

Blessed Thursday
