THEME: CHRIST IN ME

John 15:4-11

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

INSIGHT

-Sometimes we make major life decisions without involving God and eventually find that we blundered. Then we realize that we had not prayed at inception and in the process, and go back to our knees asking for God’s grace. Jesus reminds us that He is the vine and we are His branches. As the branches, we fail to exist without the vine and can do nothing without Him. To abide in Christ is to remain in Him and rely on Him for existence, protection, provision, sustenance, peace, joy, love, patience, wisdom and all other graces. To abide in Christ is also to have faith that whatever to ask for in His name, He shall accomplish in us. And those who do not have in God, will be thrown into the fire for lack of fruitfulness. To abide in Christ is to hear His word and do it through the wisdom bestowed unto us. Finally, to abide in Christ is to love Him and our neighbors, for those who do not love do not know Him, for God is love (1 John 4:8). When we abide in Christ, we are assured of bearing abundant fruit; some thirty fold, others sixty fold and a hundred fold.

PRAYER

Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not all His benefits. Who forgives all our iniquities and heals all our diseases. Who redeems our life from destruction and crowns us with loving-kindness, and tender mercies. Who satisfies our mouth with good things, so that our youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The Lord executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed. He made known His ways to Moses and His acts to the children of Israel. The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding  in mercy. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. We thank You Jesus for Your merciful love upon our loves and our nation. We thank for You have been good to us since the foundations of the earth. Your grace is sufficient for us and Your power is made perfect in our weakness, all glory and praise belongs to You. Help us to always abide in You as You are in us Jesus. Empower us to bear much fruit for the glory of Your name. Amen
