THEME: CHRIST IN ME

2 Corinthians 13:5-6

“Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test? And I trust that you will discover that we have not failed the test.”

INSIGHT

-Apostle Paul challenges the people of Corinth to examine themselves and check whether Christ speaks in them. Having a spiritual and experimental knowledge in the things not seen but the word outlines them as truth, Paul recognizes the fact that ones test of faith may fail. Jesus prayed for Simon that his faith may not fail and implored him to strengthen his brothers with that same faith (Luke 22:32). From the Bible, we find several people who stood the test of faith. Abraham the father of faith was promised a son and after he waited, God gave him Isaac and became the father of many nations. David believed in God and when he put his faith to test, he killed the Philistine giant; Goliath. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego did not relent in their belief in God even when they were challenged by a fiery furnace. They believed in God and were saved. The woman with the issue of blood trusted in Jesus such that when she touched the edge of His garment, she got well. The centurion believed in the healing word of Jesus without Him being physically present by the side of his paralyzed servant. Jesus commented and said that He had never seen such faith in the whole of Israel (Mat 8:5-13). The thief who was crucified by Jesus side and condemned to death, had faith in Him. He asked Jesus to remember His when He gets to His kingdom and Jesus promised to be with him in paradise that same day (Luke 23:32-43). These are just a few examples of tested faith that we read through the Bible coupled with many others. We must have faith in Jesus Who dwells in us so that we may stand firm in confidence on the things not seen having hope that they will manifest at His appointed time. We are also called to pray that the kingdom of God may come on earth as it in heaven so that we may have the peace and joy of Jesus Christ in our hearts.

PRAYER

As many as have received Jesus, He gave them the power to be called sons of God, thank You Father for making us Your sons. There is no other God but You Lord, we praise You and glorify Your holy name. Pray for us Jesus and intercede for us so that our faith may never fail. Increase our faith Jesus and answer our prayers for You are our only hope of salvation. May You merciful Father reach all those people who do not know You so that they may believe in in You. Thank You for dwelling with us and in us everyday, we need You always Jesus. May You Kingdom come in our hearts, our families, work places, nation and on the whole world Father. You have done marvelous things in our lives, we glorify Your holy name Jesus. May Your peace and joy Lord always dwell in our hearts. Amen
