THEME: GLORY
2 Corinthians 10:17-18
But “he who glories, let him glory in the Lord .” For not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends.
INSIGHT
-Selflessness is key to glory in the Lord and those who humble themselves will be lifted. Death to self is inevitable in the quest of living a fulfilled Christian life. Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, he should deny himself, take up his cross and follow Me, then the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and He will reward each according to his works (Mat 16:24-27). When we realize that we are nothing without God and without Him we can do nothing (Jn 15:5), we submit our lives to God and He takes control for the good of His purpose. When king David realized that he was devoid of favour without the Holy Spirit, he confessed his sins and requested God not depart from him (Ps 51:11). God bestowed upon him glory and splendor, in leadership, battles and wisdom, and was greatly blessed together with his offspring. Our approval can only then come from God and He grants us His grace so that we may walk worthy of Him and partake of His glory now and forever.
PRAYER
We thank You Lord for Your goodness upon our lives and tell of Your unfailing love. We humbly come at Your feet Jesus asking for mercy and grace, shepherd us according to Your divine purposes. We are nothing without You Holy Spirit; dwell deeply in our hearts so that we may always experience Your glory. Our Father who at in heaven hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptations but deliver us from all evil. For thine is the kingdom the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen
Blessed Thursday
