Genesis 15:2-3
“But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?” And Abram said, “You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.””
INSIGHT
-Children in Hebrew is written as yalad which it means lad, seed or offspring. This word has a multitude of meanings in Scripture. Jesus was called a Child at birth (Mat 2:11), Benjamin at around thirty years ( Gen 44:20 ), Solomon called himself a little child (1 Kings 3:7 ) etc. Descendants of man representing certain groups were called children I.e. children of Edom, Moab, Israel etc. Figuratively those who are ignorant are called children (1 Cor 14:20 ) & the humble ( Mat 19:13-15). Believers are called children of light (Luke 16:8), children of obedience ( 1 Peter 1:14 ) & children of God (Gal 3:26).
-God spoke to Abraham in a vision assuring him that He was his shield & great reward. Abraham thought of how important it was to have descendants & how one promise of inheritance would be fulfilled yet another remained unanswered. God then took him outside & promised him many descendants like the stars of the sky & he trusted in God, & it was accounted to him for righteousness. We know that righteousness only comes through Christ, so Abraham believed in the coming of Christ through his seed & was made righteous (John 8:56). The scripture foresaw in advance & announced to Abraham in advance that God would justify the Gentiles through faith & all nations shall be blessed through him. Therefore, those who have faith are children of Abraham & are blessed together with Abraham the man of faith (Gal 3:7-9). We are thus the seed of Abraham & justified through faith in Jesus Christ. With Eliezer Abraham’s servant inheriting his estate, the world would remain Christ-less & without faith one takes Eliezer’s root, a servant without inheritance of the promise. We are called therefore put all our trust in God, in all areas of our lives for we have already been blessed through Abraham; patiently awaiting manifestation not by our works but through faith in Jesus Christ.
PRAYER
We thank You Father for the many blessings that You have already bestowed unto us, we praise Your name. Remember Lord the covenant that You made with Abraham & gave him a multitude of descendants who we are part & inheritance according to Your promise. Give us firmer faith in You Jesus & justify us by Your blood Almighty Father. Many are the needs in our hearts, our homes, families, societies, nation & world, have mercy on us Father & bless us that we may bear much fruit according to Your promise. All glory & honor belongs to You Lord. Amen
Psalm 37:25-26
”I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be a blessing.”
INSIGHT
-King David reveals that since his childhood he has neither seen the righteous forsaken nor their seed begging bread, they give freely & receive Gods’ blessings. In the New Testament, Jesus tells us never to worry about our lives, about what we will eat, what we will wear, for we are more valuable than sparrows which our Father in heaven feeds, because by worrying we cannot add anything from our stature (Mat 6:25-27). May the Lord help us to walk in His precepts, give cheerfully to the needy & remain steadfast in faith. May He also keep His promises in our lives & our descendants, by providing for our daily needs, protects us, gives us peace, good health, direction of purpose & many other blessings through grace.
PRAYER
Jesus our Savior, we come to You with thanksgiving in our hearts for all the things You have done unto us & our families. Received all the glory & praise Abba Father. Many are the times we have harbored anxiety in our hearts, strengthen us & help us to fully trust in You Lord full of mercy. Guide us Father, our parents, children & entire family that we may always access all our needs according to Your grace. Your love & mercy for us endures forever, we praise You Lord now & forever. Amen
Ephesians 5:1-4
”Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.”
INSIGHT
-The Lord tells us to be holy because He is holy (1 Pet 1:16). In Gods’ nature & image we were created, Christ-like that we may leave behind all uncleanliness, fornication, covetousness, filthiness, ungodly utterances but always give thanks; for this is the will of our Father. In 1 John 3:9-10, a distinction between children of God & children of the devil is given. We are told that children of devil neither practice righteousness nor love their neighbours. Jesus became a sacrifice for us unto God for a sweet smelling aroma, we are also called to present our bodies as living sacrifices, holy & acceptable to God which is reasonable service & be renewed in the mind to follow His will (Rom 12:1-2). The decision to follow our Father as His children is more personal than corporate & He renews us daily, that we may walk in love just as He loves us with an everlasting love.
PRAYER
With our hearts full of humility Jesus our Savior, we ask for Your mercy. Purify us Jesus by Your precious blood from all sins, sins we have done either knowingly or unknowingly, sins in our thoughts & in our hearts, sins of our utterances & those that we have repeatedly committed, forgive us Father. Deliver us Lord from all evil, create in us clean hearts & renew Your steadfast Spirit within us. Give us the grace Jesus to enable us walk in light & truth, & to give thanks always. We thank You Abba Father for loving us Your children with an everlasting love. All glory & honor belongs to You; now & forever. Amen
Galatians 3:26-29
“So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
INSIGHT
-Through Gods’ love; He sent His only begotten Son Jesus Christ that through Him we may receive the adoption of sons thus children of God. We who were far off; have been brought nearer to God & baptised into Christ through His blood that we are now one in Him through faith. Since we are Abraham’s seed & heirs according to the promise, we are all equal in the eyes of the Lord, He loves us with unconditional love & nothing can separate us from His love.
PRAYER
Abba Father we thank You for loving us with unconditional love & for demonstrating it through Your beloved Son Jesus Christ; that we may believe in Him & have life in abundance. Remember Father all our children, & shower them with Your blessings. Bless all school going children Jehovah; that they may excel in their studies. Remember also Father; the many ladies & gentlemen who are anxious about getting their own families that You may grant them favor & remove any form of anxiety from their hearts. Other families are trusting You for children, may You answer them Oh Lord full of mercy just like You answered Hannah. Merciful Father be gracious to all those children who are being abused or undergoing painful experiences that You may take care of them Lord & grant them grace for they belong to You. We praise You & honor You Father. Amen
Matthew 18:3-4
“and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
INSIGHT
-Jesus teaches about the kingdom of heaven which requires one to be converted/ changed to enter. In the beatitudes Jesus says that the kingdom of heaven belongs to those who are poor in spirit. A poor spirit is teachable, meek & yearns for instructions from the Holy Spirit. Like a little child who is innocent, humble & only receives from the parents, we are called to humble ourselves in our association with God & one another so that we may become His true witnesses in receiving & sharing truth, making peace, enhancing reconciliation & extending love & joy to others through His grace.

He is a promise keeping God & keeps His promise in our lives & our descendants, by providing for our daily needs, protects us, gives us peace, good health, direction of purpose & many other blessings as Abraham’s seed through grace.
PRAYER
Thank You Jehovah Jireh for all You have done unto us through out the week. Thank You for the good health, provision, strength, wisdom, care, blessings, support & all the things You have done unto us & our families. We place all our cares, burdens, needs & those of our families unto You Father for You care & love us. Increase in us the fruit of humility that we may find that which You want to show us Lord at everything moment of our lives. Help to be reconciled with those who wrong us through Your grace that peace, love & unity may prevail in our lives, families & nation. All wisdom & strength belongs to You Lord. Amen
