THEME: THANKSGIVING TO GOD
Colossians 4:2 NKJV
“Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;”
INSIGHT
-Apostle Paul exhorts the Colossian believers to be built up and rooted in earnest prayer while giving thanks to God. This sort of earnest prayer is vital, but does not come easy. It speaks of great effort steadily applied and diffuses the distractions of the devil as vigilance is achieved.
SUMMARY
Thanksgiving to God is paramount for all believers. God calls us to enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. To be thankful to God and bless His name for He is good and His mercy is everlasting (Psalms 100:4-5). When we give thanks to God in all circumstances, we find His peace that rules in our hearts. In all that we do in word and deed we are called to do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him (Colossians 3:15-17). Further, God invites us to rejoice in Him always and pray while giving thanks (Philippians 4:4-6). God calls us to thanks to Him which empowers our victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57).
PRAYER
Abba Father You are Holy and Mighty. You are lifted above every throne. All nations praise You, all creation declare Your holiness. We raise Your banner in all the nations and among all the people. May You help us dear Lord Jesus to become persistent in prayer and diligent in seeking Your face. May You soften our hearts so that we may always have gratitude. May You do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ask of or think of according to the power that is at work in us. Lord we trust in You and exalt You. We believe that You are able to do more than we can think of or imagine. We believe that we shall be extremely fruitful since we abide in You and You in us. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives and we shall dwell in Your house forever. May You bless us and keep us loving Father, may You shine Your face upon us and be gracious to us. May You lift up Your countenance towards us and give us peace. Amen
Blessed Weekend
