THEME: SIGHT

Mark 10:51-52

So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.

INSIGHT

-Bartimaeus a blind man in Jericho had great faith in Jesus. When he heard that Jesus was calling him; he threw away his garment which was associated with the blind, for he knew the Teacher would definitely heal him. This is to confirm that we walk by faith, not by sight (2 Cor 5:7).

-Faith is defined as the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Heb 11:1). The righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as “The just shall live by faith.” (Rom 1:17). When God answers our prayers, He increases our faith. When He tells us to wait, He increases our patience. When He doesn’t answer, He is doing something better.

SUMMARY

-Moses obtained grace in the eyes of the Lord but did not journey with the Israelites into Canaan. One might think he didn’t enter the promised land, but we later find him in the New Testament during the transfiguration.

-Joab, king David’s army commander had great faith in God. He encouraged his army to believe in God for the battle belonged to Him & consequently emerged victorious. Just as the disciples asked Jesus to increase their faith, we should emulate their request as without faith it is impossible to please God.

-In partaking the divine nature of God & overcoming the lusts of the world, the Holy Spirit our Helper instills in us diligence, faith, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness & love.

-It is pleasing in Gods sight that we pray, intercede & give thanks for one another & leaders all over the world. Jesus is our ultimate intercessor & only Mediator between us & God the Father; who unites us all in one body in Him, so that peace may reign in the world.

PRAYER

We humbly implore You Father, to have mercy on us & increase our faith. Hear our supplications, prayers & intercessions from the deepest parts of our hearts. Forgive us our trespasses & deliver us from all evil. Instill in us Your fruit, Father to caution us from all worldly lusts. We praise You & give you thanks; now & forever. Amen

Blessed Weekend.
